use barch, attack in higher leagues where loot bonus will cover troops i.e c2-m1, or only attack bases that will cover your troop cost so dont atk a base with 200k gold and 10k lix
And obstacles are too OP.
He has all his storages full, but he complains about his army eating away at his elx? The logic is strong with this one :facepalm:
If you manage to top up your elx storage, then you make more elx than you spend.
What army composition are you using?
- Barch is the cheapest
- GiBarch is a stronger attack, with a intermediate cost
- If you use wizards/drags when raiding, that is just way too expensive and a bad choice
None of these things changes that troops cost too much.
Barch is not that cheap either for TH10:
Archer 120x 500 = 60k
Barb 120x 300 = 36k
Total = 96k without spells
With the cost increase and building HP increase pure barch is much harder to pull off (albeit expensive) and I found myself falling short at 45-49% for a good portion of my raids (without heroes or spells). I found that any mixture or inclusion of minions, giants and even goblins help secure the win and aid in cleaning up semi protected collectors within walls.
Giants are especially useful. My troop composition is 1 rack each on barbs and giants, 2 for archers and a set amount of 10 minions with rage in the SF. It's a very versatile army that can take on collector raids roughly using 2 giants on each side of the base and sweeping with barbs and archers, or core about 30-40% of a base with the assistance of rage spells to cope with the lack of any WB.
A lot of troop comps are expensive now my BARCH is 64k now
Pure barch works fine for me.
TH9 from C3 to M2/M3
TH10 from M3 to M1
Lightning spells when 47%+
I only start to add a hero (AQ40) at M1 to reach champ and higher up. Switch to GoBarch at high Champ3. 3800+ now.
When 47%+, use Lightning spells. Depending on the base, either:
1) Use 2x or 4x lightning on 1-2 mortars, before attack. This will keep your barch troops alive longer.
2) or, use at ending to lightning builder huts, altars, weakened buildings.
Use CC as last ditch effort. My barch attacks very rarely used CC.
I have never able to make BAM work for me.
Giants only when need to core into base. Then need to bring some WB and/or jump spells.
Generally, I have been doing 50% outer buildings from Crystal3 to Champ1, using barch and Go-barch.

Just want to add that the cheapest army is Barbs and Gobs.
I have never used those two troops alone as an army and I don't feel it will be that good.

Two lightning doesn't seem very spell-efficient. Heroes (especially the queen) are great for clutching, and if even after expending them you're ending at 47%+ you need to either modify your composition or move to a lower range. Post-update lightning is basically useless- a rage on a small cluster of archers can easily get you 5-10% as opposed to 1-2%. Or, have Giants shield as they are great barb substitutes and are immune to perimeter splash buildings.
And the fastest army to train is barbs and minions :p You can't just factor in the cheapest or fastest composition out there; you need to consider effectiveness as well. Hence why archers are used and why the cost increase is unavoidable for any farming composition.
Lol, a TH9 commenting the amount of inactives a TH10 can find. Let me tell you in on a secret, my TH10 is farming inactive bases in M2/3 for quite some time now, the amount of inactives I find is astounding. I haven't done a proper storage raid in days using gibarch, yet I fill my storages with loot bonus and inactive bases

Because with maxed troops, you're expected to be in higher leagues where the bouns loot cover most of your army cost.
Did I forgot to inform, both my heroes are upgrading when I am pure barching from Crystal3 until M2.
Lightning is quite efficient for barching as high-TH9/TH10. Take out mortar first, then the archers can take 5-10% more than without lightning the mortar.
Once you spent 240 troops, how to get the additional small cluster of archers ? CC ? I rarely use my CC at those trophy range. Every season (2 weeks at that time), my request is <500 including for war. Donation 3k-4k+
A few L7 giants doesn't last long facing a few level 12-13 cannons/archer towers. By the time L7 archers clear the outer buildings, the giants are gone and archers start falling.
If you are thinking about L5 or L6 CC Giants facing TH8 defenses ... that's no effort at all :rolleyes: might as well save the Giant cost and replace with barbs.
The developers have spent 3 years now getting the balance of the game right and as I have managed to farm (after work only) a maxed cannon a week and 8 million pink every 14 days despite the training cost that seems about right to me?
You shouldn't be able to max a TH10 in 6 weeks dude.

If im in need of elixir, I just barch collectors in silver/gold. Its the only way of making substantial profit from each attack.
If im after gold or dark, I head up to to masters/champs.
But I do agree, someone who has full storages..shouldnt be complaining lol

My barch costs around 70k, an i only hit bases that offer 250k+ elix. Not bad for an attack that takes 5mins to train with no spells lol
Loot bonus is good, if you win..if you dont, your most probs at a loss.
As ive said..if im after gold/DE i head for masters/champs.
Plus, how many TH snipes do you see up there? Cos i dont see many at all. But for sure..th sniping is great in a good league (no brainer).
Eitherways, you stick with your strat, cos im certainly stickin to mine :D

The world, games, your needs are changing constantly. The game dynamics changes all the time. A good example is the recent spells cost/time change.
My opinion:
- Cost is fine;
- Time to cook is a bit high for some troops (20/45min for an expensive ♥♥♥!?); I would like to farm using stronger troops since BArch is too boring;
- Troops alive after the raid must return to camps (regular multiplayer farms at least);
- Hero recovery time is waaaaaaaaay too high (you farm a lot to upgrade them, wait so loooooooooooooooooooong for each level, and the final result is that you will use them less and less, again ♥♥♥!?)
Strangely, I find a ton of collector bases in M2/3. Mostly 100k each + drills but some cases easily 200-400k each + drills and loot bonus. My best hour unboosted was a hax 4 good collector raids + 10 snipes an hr leading to a whopping 2.6mil gold + 18k DE that single hr
But generally easily 1.5mil gold/hr + 9k DE farming high up for collectors. All done with GiBAM, so around 100k per army (lvl 6 troops) which is covered by loot bonus + all collector loot. Average I find 4-6 snipes per hr, and that is within 100 nexts so I net gain in all resources

Despite my best efforts, I've never been able to actually run out of elixir or dark elixir due to army expenses. I usually raid with a 200k+ elixir and 500+ DE army.
Well, I did get low on elixir back when I was pushing up crystal leagues before the multiplayer matchmaking update. Super dry loot and mostly TH9/10 bases made trophy pushing much harder back then (wasn't TH sniping either, not that I found many TH snipes). These days it's extremely easy by comparison.
