Troll
Troll
DPS: 150
HP: 4200
Training Cost: 700 Dark Elixer
Favorite Target: Any
Damage Type: Area Splash 1 tile radius, but does not use Valkyrie AI so usually only hits one building, but can hit a group of units.
Attack Range: 1 tile
Time Per Attack: 5 seconds
Damage Per Hit: 750
Targets: Ground
Housing Space: 25
Training Time: 3 days (by training a troll with a full army camp, can queue a troll for the second war attack)
Movement speed: 10, very slow like balloons
Movement Type: Hybrid
"The troll is very tall and will step over walls, and is targetable by all defenses, ground and air."
The troll introduces several features:
* Tanks for both ground and air troops, allowing more flexibility in mixed (ground/air) attack strategies
* Time as a resource: extremely high training time appeals more to less active players

I previously posted an idea "Gem Barracks" in which I used a Troll unit as an example. This time I thought more about the troll. This is consistent with other units which only have one flavor per class. For example, there would never be 4 different flavors of the same unit (Hill Troll, Forest Troll, Cave Troll, etc). The only way that would work is if you got a random one when you trained, but I'm not sure I like that idea.

I'm not convinced that we need a tank for both ground and air in one. Usually your army goes one way or the other. You could say the exception would be using healers, but then your giants or whatever are the ground tank and the lava hound could be the air tank.
opethwindiwpane I think your idea is pretty extreme based on the pace Supercell has shown us with what updates they actually do. Maybe if you scaled it back a little bit?
My idea is a little different. Basically, there are no ground units that have a ranged attack which can also tank (besides the AQ), so this could be really useful at protecting wizards and witches. There are no other units that target resources besides the goblin, so I was thinking the Troll could also target resources and its build would be kind of like a ranged Valkyrie without splash damage. This would also have a pretty big implication defensively for farming bases.
Thoughts?
