Are forum related clans better all around?

I've noticed that clans that have leaders and co-leaders associated with the forums are more solid, all around, than clans that don't. Has this been your experience? I don't think it only has to do with the availability of information. There are a variety of avenues for that. Seems like it has more to do with a desire to do well, and the ability to communicate well with others. When recruiting, have you found your best people here, or has it been a shot in the dark each time someone new joins your clan?

Another curiosity: I've come across players that put the time and effort into playing, but rarely seek information outside the game itself. I don't understand this.

My leader doesn't even know when updates are coming and I have to inform him about what's happening :smirk:

Still, you don't learn a lot from the forums other than to be sarcastic and put up with trolls. So, on the whole, forum related clans might have a bit more knowledge, but are no different from other clans.

I suppose some of it is the time they are willing to commit.

It's reasonable to expect that people that are spending time on something clash related while not even playing, are going to be a bit more commited to their playing time/habits.

There do seem to be a few forum members that say things like: I don't play anymore, just lurk here.

Never saw the point in that myself, but hey ho.

My clan is half full of addicts, far as I know I'm the only regular forum user. Not like they need to be, I spoon feed them anything useful from here and all update news via line.

Maybe it's the people in my clan, then. There is a stark difference between my current clan and my previous clans. My clan leader is involved in the forums, and other clan mates refer to the forums (along with other sources of information) as well. Organization and communication and even fair play is much better than what I've previously encountered. For the most part, new members are recruited directly from the forums.

Then again, many of them are family and friends in real life. I'm sure that makes a big difference in and of itself.

I believe the issue is if people are willing to take the time to recruit on the forum, read on the forum etc. they care enough about the game to want to clash with good people. So they are more selective about who is let in and more willing to get rid of people that don't fit.

Big fat yes. They are more informed, see different rules of different clans, etc. They just seem more mature and intelligent than in game made clans.

I also think it's mostly related to this^.

In our clan, we recruit people from the forums/website or members' friends because they are more likely to be active and participative. And they can also be easily contacted outside the game.

This would be a great thread in the "clan talk" forum....

I think I'm the only one from my clan who actually checks the forums. I've recruited a few people from here but they're usually people who are new to the forums and probably only came to the forums specifically to find a clan and nothing else.

The more regular users are all pretty established in their own clans so it's really hard to say one way or another if people who check the forums are really better. You might find some of the better players on the forums but I don't there's any type of causality there. People aren't better (at least not substantially) because they use the forums.

I'm interested in the forum elite event coming up so I'll be able to network better with some forum people though and possibly learn some things in game from other clashers who are at least as interested in the game as me.

Forum related clans?
Hmmm a clan of people complaining about hero ai/healer nerfs/lack of loot/EQ spell damaging your precious walls yet forgets the fact that jump spells have the same effect/pekka ai/ "bad war matchups".


I prefer the ol fashion friends and fam clan myself.
You get to grow as a clan, watch everyone improve, cant even remember the last time we had a missed war attack.
And if you ever become too strong for your clan you can always venture out and have a solid home to come back too.
