A one-time name change for clans wouldn't do the job, the clans are a totally different thing than the players.
For the accounts, a one-time option was good enough because the ownership of the account does not change (hopefully), so the owner should know what name he desires and change it into that.
When it comes to clans, the ownership can change anytime and every new leader will desire a name change option, so for clans.. a one-time option is not enough and adding more wouldn't be good either. This can also cause confusions with the Bookmarking system.
I don't really understand how it would affect the bookmarking system since there is a unique clan tag for every clan.Quote:

I think you didn't read my comment about why a one-time option wouldn't be enough for clans. Yes, it would be fine for few months but then when the Leader gives his position, the new leadership might want a new name. The thing is, I want to avoid future useless comments and ideas being posted asking for new name changes for clans, so if it's to build a great idea, we should build it from the start.Quote:

Well... you are making an assumption that leaders would keep rotating for every clan. Even if this is true, the next owner would have to live with it that clan XXX with xxx clan tag has used up the only chance for a name change. This isn't a request to change clan names as and when you like it or whether ownership of the clan changes. Its just like how a player name works; you now have one shot at changing it. Screw it up and that's it. I'm asking for that one shot with a clan name change.Quote:

Therefor i don't think this suggestion should get discarded because it ''could'' cause much more useless threads and comments. Implementing a namechange option from the start is one way to do it, but if you really worry about recognition a clan could have a 1 month adaptation-period if they decide to change their name. They name could be colored red in the bookmark pages of all players that bookmarked the clan, just so people know the name has been changed. When visiting the clan profile the previous name is also displayed so people will know what clan it used to be. If this period should be a month or less can be determined by SC, the ''1 month adaptation-period'' is just an example.
Well, preventing those topics from coming is more in people's favour, not only on the forums one. Why? Well, when somebody comes with suggestions on the forums, they obviously want them in-game. When there will come 100 people on the forums and ask for this, they will accuse SC for not thinking the idea through and only thinking of a solution for a limited amount of time.Quote:

I can give u some reasons y this wouldn't work, and why it won't happen:
1) it will confuse players who have not bookmarked clans.....
2) I doubt anyone will build a clan with a name they don't want, almost no one will take a clan to lvl 3 or higher if they don't like the name :facepalm:
