New th8 need help defending my Base

Hey guys I am a new th8( 1 week) I have upgraded quite well for a week. I had maxed everything in th7 before moving to th8 . I loot a lot but as soon as I go offline and I don't have a shield I get 3 stared by th9's or strong army by a th8. I had max dark elixer when I came to th8. I upgraded storage now I get raid almost every time for 1k dark. Its very difficult to keep up to the th9 attacks and get enough de to upgrade my king to level 6. Please can anyone suggest any statergy that I can adopt to get attacked with less regularity. Thank you :D

Face it. You're a TH8. TH9 > TH8. Sorry, but effectively it's impossible to defend against TH9's. War-wise I would recommend learning how to build a TH8 variant of an anti 3 to defend against most TH8 attacks, but since you're post is geared towards farming, tough luck. Sorry. Drop to Silver to avoid getting pummeled much, keep your TH out. Gold 3 and 2 are other options, more snipers up there I believe.

Is your town hall out? And in what league might you be residing?

If you're in Crystal 2 right now, I apologize. Anytime I see 1000 DE on a TH8 I GiBarch it with level 6 wizards in the CC. The 50 levels of heroes don't farm themselves.

The best advice I can give for early TH8 when you don't have intimidating skull walls or splash towers is to session raid (preferably boosting barracks and BK when you have 2 hours) so that you outpace losses and keep your town hall out and obviously untrapped/decorated so that you usually only get hit for one loss. Also, I'd either stay low league (silver) where there are fewer TH9s looking for easy marks or go high (Crystal+) where the league bonus is worth sniping. The middle ground in the gold leagues is hard to survive in because you'll have lots of upper TH8s and early TH9s looking for an easy 400-500 DE, and the league bonus isn't worth sniping for unless you're trying to reach Crystal for the first time for gems.

Mostly, I'd just try to drain out loot as quickly as possible, and keep a builder free for dumping excess gold into skull walls if you have 4 or 5 builders. As much as people say that dark purple and skull walls are equivalent to wall breakers, skull walls make me think twice before attacking since you eventually run out of wall breakers and have to chew through those extra 1000 hit points with barbarians, archers, and giants.

You haven't been to silver lately have you? That suggestion is a bit outdated as my 10 is down there doing walls and feeding on many many close to max 9s.

I am currently in silver 2 and yes my th is outside but no one snipes it .just since today morning I have lost 3k dark to th9's

That's the problem. Around Silver 2 Silver 1 is where all the farmers are. Push to gold 2. More snipers less farming bullies imo. And as long as you have an intimidating farm base, you should be good.

I actually think Gold League might be a decent place for OP right now. Your logic is sound for sure, i don't dispute that, but i'm a TH8 in Gold 2 and i get hit at all maybe 20 percent of the time(80 percent snipes) and pretty rarely are they TH9's with a full raid army of any sort. In fact i just now got sniped a few minutes ago by a TH9 with gibarch army and lvl 30 queen. I was offering 300/300 and 1.3k de. I honestly have no clue why that person didn't raid me. Happens a lot, and i don't get it, the loot bonus isn't worth it, i don't snipe th's here at all.

Only thing i can think of is i have all skull walls(seems like a TH9 wouldn't care though) and i have a lot of funnels in my base to bomb and spring the ♥♥♥♥ out of a giant army, so maybe attackers are savvy to that.

Go to Gold league Gold 2 and up, most of the players there cares only for trophy
and not on loot. and maybe change your base if your base always got wreck.
There so many Th9 players Gold 3 and down, only cares for loot specially
who has bigger loots.

Whenever you're getting robbed like that, it means you're in the wrong neighborhood (league). TBH, if you have a lot of DE on offer, no league will be safe for you, so my best advice.. Spend the DE as quickly as you can and keep your TH outside in a corner.
