so I go raid someone and the king acted odd...
he goes and kills enemy queen, yeah ok...

why would he backtrack and ignore a jump spell that he was literally standing on just a few seconds ago?!
thankfully I still got the storage thanks to queen smartening up at the last second but that weird AI behavior baffles me...

but when they combine it is horrible

- BK jumps in to attack AQ, literally standing on the wall section.
- AQ killed, seems the nearest target is gold storage, not CC. But is weird that he did not jump in but backtrack. Could be some enemy skeleton traps or something triggering the BK
- BK hit the same wall as AQ to break in.
Only thing i can think of is the gold storages was the closest building, and the jump spell didnt reach far enough for him to jump into the compartment.
This is something I've seen before - the hero can use the jump spell to get into the compartment, but the AI erroneously doesn't recognise that it can. In this case, the BK hasn't been able to see it can get in via jump, so uses the next best option of the AQ's half damaged wall.
The jump effect continues acting for a short time after the hero (or any other critter) leaves the jump range. This means that occasionally faster moving critters can get across a wall just outside jump radius while golems get stuck behind. Frustrating for those that post here about it, but an interesting effect.
I guess the other question you've got it why it targeted the gold store at all instead of going straight in after the core... Closer I assume. But there's a bit of randomness in target selection too.
In that case he should hit the wall right there next to gold storage, not backtrack and then hit.. Even then if jump didn't reach storage. Then nearest building should be cc which is what they would do outside wall if it was outside walls scenario.Quote:

AI is never perfect. That's what happened.
To further add a few comments to my earlier post above:
- After BK kill AQ, BK is standing "in" the wall.
- Which based on AI, it is still outside the wall, and the graphics has to show it fall back to proper ground and not stand "in" the wall.
- BK backtrack.
- AI calculation decides gold storage is nearest. Instead of the jump pathing into CC.
- BK hit the same wall as AQ
there were no skeleton traps triggered in that area or anything, and the jump spell did cover the whole wall section seeing as the giants jumped into the core with no issue... I still really don't get why he went for gold storage instead of cc...
Question: Was the enemy AQ inside the compartment where the Gold Storage and AQ altar are? Seems likely the AQ was inside there at some point.
I'm thinking the cause of BK targeting that wall comes from earlier, when the enemy AQ was still inside that compartment. When the enemy AQ moves out of the compartment the BK goes and knocks her out, then goes back to what was he was doing before (ie. punching that corner wall).
Simple, the bk initially used the jump spell to target the cc building. It re-targets to the AQ and backtracks outside the jump spell. Once it kills the AQ, the BK coding forgets about the jump spell and starts to target the gold storage behind the wall.
There are a ton of bugs with troop targeting. That's just how the game is and it frustrates many hardcore clashers.
