New trap: the portal trap!

This is just an idea for a trap so it'll be a short thread.....

*****Portal Trap: single tile hidden trap that affects all ground troops (including goelms, pekkas, and heroes) which when triggered will send that particular troop to a designated point within a specific radius selected by it's owner when the trap is set. (Only one troop will be affected)(radius of portal depends on level)

Appearance is a small swirling pool of dark energy on the ground

Level 1:
Cost per trap is 10,000 dark (max 2)
1st available at th 8 and 2nd at th10
Radius of portal teleport is 5 tiles
Rearm cost 250

Level 2:
Upgrade cost is 20000 dark
Radius 6 tiles
Rearm 350 dark

Level 3:
Upgrade cost is 30000 Dark
Radius 7 tiles
Rearm 450 dark

Pretty OP I would say. One golem being transported could ruin an entire raid, and one trap shouldn't have the ability to shift the course of battle so greatly. That's why springs don't affect golems and pekka.

I could see how it might seem OP; but then again it's not killing the troop like a spring trap, it's just moving it to a different area of the map.

If a golem got moved way to the outskirts of the map, an attacker could still possibly take advantage of that because maybe it'd start targeting other defenses it hadn't got to yet, and if they still have witches or wizards they could just drop them behind it from there.

It's not so much about ruining a raid as it is making an attacker have to think quickly and adjust an attack plan.

But I could just stick a tesla next to the portal and distract the golem for a while. If you set this thing deep into your base, it would probably be too late to do anything else with the troop that gets teleported.

Too OP. Needs more details and balancing.

Just throwing concepts out there as ideas pop into my head. The Doom Knight I spent alot more time putting details into.

If nothing else that's really all I'd want to see in clash

It could work. However, the trap should be randomized. It's OP to have a person choose where the troop is teleported to. Have it randomized to go to some random spaces X away from the trap, and I like it.

I guess that would make it a bit more balanced out..... but then again what if it randomly teleports a lvl 20 king or a lvl 5 pekka right next to the townhall?

Gotta remember that with this trap, any troop could be teleported..... meaning it could be a golem or just a barb... and it will always be just one troop.

I think being able to control where it goes is the only way for it to work in the defenders favor.

Tbh, I thought this would be something like this:
Some troops; a golem, some barchers etc. walk to the trap, the trap activates, they fall in, come from up above, and fall down. Tier 1 troops (barbs, archers, gobs) instant kill, all other troops lose % of health.

Teleportation in a game set in the pre-medieval ages?
Yeah, it could work in BB, but I don't see it fitting in clash.

To add a medievel touch lets call it something like "Sands of time" and its visual apprearence can be changed too.

You can't adjust an attack when all your troops are put down.

I would make the trap like the spring where troops such as Golems are Pekkas are unaffected - maybe have any troop over 20 housing space is unaffected for example?

Also, does this trap only transport one troop? if so I wouldn't use this trap if I'm farming because I am generally attacked by barch - One trap to move one barbarian? eh lol. What I would suggest is when a troop activates the trap there is a period of time between the activation and the actual transportation of troops, this allows for the movement of a larger bunch of barbarians (for eg) if they stay on the trap.

Similar to like when the giant bomb goes off there's that split second between the time it is triggered and the time it explodes, I think that could work.

And I say one troop because I had war battles in mind when thinking of the trap, hence why I wanted for it to affect pekkas and golems.

Didn't really consider farming bases or loot raids, but something that which could affect a group of troops like that could actually be pretty useful in protecting your storages

Having it affect a group of troops would be better for war as well??

That way if you're using gowipe there's still a chance it could stay together if they are bunched up.

I think it'd be a cool trap to have in game.

And as far as it not fitting the theme, anyone here ever played oblivion? Or zelda?? Lol. Portals work in a midevil setting when it's fantasy based and has magic in the world

I would suggest a randomized placement of the troops after falling into the trap. I would just make it reappear at the edge of the village, as far out as possible, but in no set place each time. That way, you can't rig traps for it, but it does make the troops unable to attack your village for a given period of time.

This was my thinking originally, but according to other people's opinions this way of having the trap is OP

The trap should affect a group of troops in a small area and teleport them within a short radius to a specific location that the defender selects.......

Orrrrrr......

This trap should only affect ONE troop and send it randomly to the far outskirts of the map.

It's got to be one way or the other.

Annnnd I don't think it needs to be altered to not affect golems or pekkas because it doesn't kill the troop or even do any damage to it. It just relocates them.
