Gem prices too high?

Recently, I wanted to buy 50$ worth in gems, but I calculated, and even as an almost maxed TH7, 6500 gems could not even get me to TH8. This being said, I think that isn't worth 50$ just for 6500 gems.

I had an idea of potentially lowering the prices, or increasing the gem count slightly so it would be more worth the money.

5$ = 1000
10$ = 2250
20$ = 4000
50$ = 10000
100$ = 21000

Prices go up not down.

When sales are up and increasing, it's unlikely that any company would just randomly cut their revenue in half.... Just because?

One day, they may have to make adjustments in prices. I doubt it'll be on the direct gem costs as it's a pretty solid industrial standard for each premium currency costing roughly a penny each. If they make any adujustments in the future, it'll be to how far your gems will buy you. Its not today or tomorrow, but I wouldn't sit around waiting on it.

What I mean is, the value of gems isn't worth the price you buy them for, 5$ will only allow me to finish 1 upgrade, and it won't even allow me to fill even 10% of my storages. This is why I thought I would increase the gem count, because that way the gem price is more worth it, and a player who buys gems will be able to say: "I'm glad I bought these!" instead of: "Why did I buy these? It wasn't worth it."

This shouldn't become a pay to play game. Decreasing the price of gems or increasing their effectiveness would essentially widen the gap between those who choose to pay their way through and those who don't. Just enjoy the game, and don't get too into gemming everything.

I don't really want to gem to max TH10, but I thought I would buy maybe 50$ worth in gems. This is why I made this thread, to regulate the prices so people wouldn't buy gems and regret doing so because they could only upgrade like 3 defenses or walls with the gems they bought.

Enough players world wide found the value worthy of spending almost a billion USD fiscal year 2014. Until that changes significantly, it is unlikely that they'd cut their revenue literally in half.

"Good morning everyone, I know we made upwards of 800 million dollars last year and I have a fantastic new idea! Let's change it so we only make half of that next year!"

As you can see, that statement sounds ridiculous when you put it into a holistic business perspective....

I don't buy gems, so I don't care....

I'm all for adding more gems to make It worth the money. But Supercell will just take this idea and laugh at it. There is no way they will cut their profits just for us. They have made so much money off of us that they are probably at the point of trying to design a whole new game just so we can repeat and spend all the money on the new one. SC is in the buisness for the money, not for enjoyment. Sure they may have started with trying to create a game for fun but at this point it's all about the money. The only thing I could see the doing with gems is Having a week here and there where they say something like 2x the gems for half the money or something. But that's just a one week thing when they think that people are fading away from buying gems. I do agree with you on the gems idea but it won't happen.

All the premium games are in it for the money. What would be the point of starting a company otherwise? If you want a game that will be free then start a game that you buy once and once you finish a week later start another one. They have a full,team that needs to work to keep the game running. Of course they are going to make sure the money is there.
