Donating to War Castles: Bug or Intentional Feature?

Hey guys,

The other day I noticed something really weird that caught me by surprise (I sometimes have slight OCD when it comes to bugs and minor things :P).

Basically, when you donate to a war castle, your "troops donated" count and your player experience level do not increase. At all. The season counter doesn't increase, and your total counter located in your profile doesn't increase.

(I haven't kept track of the "troops received" count of the receiving player, so I'm not sure if this is also unaffected, but I assume so.)

All I want to know is, is this intentional?? If so, why?

If it isn't intentional though, I would definitely want to see some changes made, especially regarding the experience and donation count aspect. The received doesn't matter as much. :smirk:

The way I understood this was that at the END of the preparation day, the game sees who donated what troops and rewards experience and / or increases their counters respectively. This process ignores troops that got dumped, which allows it to bypass potential abuse using the "dump and donate" method. This is genius. http://forum.supercell.net/images/smilies/thumbsup.png

Just add a troop counter next to war timer in profile to show how many troops has been donated to current war. This counter will get reset each war end time


This way,
1. you will get recognized for your effort.
2. Xp won't be added.
3. No friend in need change(as this can help to check their activeness)
4. You can track who is donating how much each war
5. Everyone wins?

Sure, but you can also delete troops from the regular clan castle and the donation count will still go up

i mean,there's a wait time between them in regular clan castle
but there's no wait time on war clan castle.

imagine this : player 1 donation , player 2 deleting , ..

I see what you mean... but can't Supercell just use the troop donating limit thing that is already used for regular donations? So if player A donates 6 archers to player B, who deletes them, then player A can't donate troops again. This can prevent abuse.

Or better yet, just make the next incoming troops not count as donations

Lol for someone with more than 500 war stars.. you should have noticed earlier haha.
But idk, supercell should indeed add that.. Would also encourage all those who hide during war cc donations to donate more.

Yes, they just need to have two timers, one for donating to war cc, and one for donating to normal cc. Problem solved. And yes, the reason it doesn't count (though I've never seen an SC employee confirm this) is allegedly to curb abuse and get mass XP from people deleting/donating in a cycle. Of course what that fails to note is that those same players still need to wait for troops to train, or spend elixir on said troops. Nevermind the time spent on both sides to get a handful of XP. Maybe if somebody automated the process it could be an issue, but that's about it...

I agree that war donations should not give XP, but they ARE real donations, and they should count, both in the clan roster, and the FIN achievement.

High donations helps for recruiting, and it helps us know who is contributing as well. The credit should be shown somewhere.
