Barch followed by Giants then drags and then wb,goblins,golem ,pekka,but along the way do not forget spells and of course ur hero! :D

Being a new th8 and in a hardcore war clan i can tell you that upgrading hogs to level 4 and dragons to level 3 is essencial if you war a lot. If not i would reccomend barbs, archers, wizards, etc. Pretty much troops that you need for farming. hope this helps and good luck.

i'll second that, dragon raids fall off after th7, all th7's can be 3'd by lvl 3 dragons, but the same can't be said for th8, i feel drags are only useful for CC defense after th7 but that's just me

Level 3 dragons can three star low to mid TH8's. It does take less time to max your TH8 dragon attack (particularly using lightning for your spells) than your hog attack. Just upgrade your dragons to level three and bam, max TH8 dragon attack. To max your hog attack you kind of need to upgrade hogs twice, heal spell, wizards, and archers, but for sure the two levels of hogs and the heal spell. That takes a lot longer than the dragons.

So there's definitely something to be said for upgrading the dragons and coasting along on them while you work on hogs and heal in the lab.

When I got to town hall 8 I think that the first troop I upgraded was probably archers or barbs. However I would suggest getting wizards to level 5 quickly.

First upgrade your farming troops,then start upgrading the War ones(Hogs,P.E.K.K.As,Dragons,Wizards,Spells,etc... ).Upgrade your splash defenses first.

I disagree. Pekka is not a priority for war at TH8, don't waste all that lab time on her. I'd put pekka low on the priority list.

I'd only upgrade splash first if your primary concern is raid defense. If you are all about war you need to to air defenses to max immediately. Otherwise I like archer towers, they have the most range of air/ground defenses at TH8, and do good damage, while taking a lot less time to upgrade than teslas so you get more DPS over more range more quickly.

Pekka level 1 on TH8 gowipe is already pretty good anyway.
About splash defences, in war they're totally useless so I personally am ignoring them. But do them if you don't war.
My wiz towers levels are 1, 3 and 6
My mortars levels are 2, and 3 whatever max TH7 level is

For war focus on ADs first, then Teslas and Arch Towers
Currently rocking with 3 level 6 ADs, Teslas level 6, 5 and 3 ... not 3 starred by dragons yet in war :cool: (not 3 starred in general tbh)

Absolutely true. PEKKA is the dead last priority for war upgrades for TH8. I was one of the noobs who did PEKKAs first and found out the hard way that my maxed GOWIPE was still only a two star strategy against the vast majority of TH8s.

As for defenses for wars, ADs then ATs/teslas.
