When to start TH upgrade?

Personally, I would tell you to wait 'till at least your BK is lvl 10, and try to squeeze in as many other upgrades as you can in the meantime. Because sooner or later you're going to end up doing them, and farming resources is much easier (though boring, as you said) as a TH8.

For me, having the DE Storage full when getting to TH9 and buying + upgrading the AQ right away was the best part of the TH upgrade.

If you rush to TH9 just for farming and no warring, upgrade your barch and Bk go to TH9, during the time when yur builders are idle dump gold into splash till they're max for TH8 level, not point defense, if you want don't do any defense, upgrade CC get xbows and upgrade barch.
If you war, try to be an 8.5 without max th8 defenses or without max th7 defenses

As for "finding TH8 boring", I still don't know how that's possible when you haven't mastered the most powerful attack of TH8, or even have the ability to run it. And you think TH9 will be better somehow when you're even further behind?

It's my choice. I choose to rush. This is NOT a thread asking if I SHOULD rush, I'm asking the question in the OP. So learn to read. And I said I was rushing in the OP, but he practically said max.
