Ah yes, the little known but extremely effective farming tactic... Gemming. 8million gold per second!

And more importantly, how much gold per hour he actually can gain? Sure, clicking next 200 times for the perfect target will bring loads of gold but to get it, one might spend more. Of course one can get really lucky now and then and find those ghostbases ten times in a row and bring a mill a piece each. Just like you can win in lottery ten times in a row :)
There are a number of variables that need to be explained to prove which is better. They both have their pros and cons. For example, if you are a th10 no matter who you attack your never going to get a loot bonus, keeping in kind that th10 is relativley new not many people have it so your most likely going to have loot penaltys. But on the other hand th9 also has the same situation except they get a loot bonus if they attack a th10 and win.
also, you forget to mention where you are farming. If your a th9/10 and you are farming in the silver-gold league, you are getting enormous penalties (usually these players are gemmers). But if your a jorge yao and your really up there in the trophies then your going to get more loot because there are only going to be th9/10 up with you (these players are most likely gemmers as well)
Range: 2000-2200
I agree there are surely some higher loot raids available for Th10. But I also agree you cant farm at the same rate. In my opinion there are three factors why you can't raid at the same pace as an th9
- TH8s are no option anymore. Therefore the pool of raidable and profitable bases gets slimmer with only 9s and 10s left.
- To find the same loot as a th9 you need to hit the 'next opponent' button more and the button costs more to use. Results in more time and gold wasting.
- Even if a th10 finds a base with good loot, the loot would always have been better if a Th9 would have found that base.
Also a very valid point. Even if you do raid that 8m gold in an hour: How much did you spent on searching for the right base. Also more time spent searching is less time spent raiding.
You and Bill are spot on about this subject if you ask me :)
I can see where you are coming from. And to compare we ofcourse need to make the assumption that the th9 and th10 player are in the same trophy range. Otherwise we indeed can't compare. Lets take the 2000-2200 range as an example.
Farming troops are equal for both levels so there is no difference.
