I hope SC does change their minds on this issue as it is a black cloud dragging the game down and it is just depressing. If there is a way to balance upgrading heroes and being able to war effectively with a hero down without causing the process to upgrade heroes to drag on for extra months and months I am not smart enough to figure it out. I am not even in a serious war clan and even they say "just gem it then" when venting frustration of not being able to use upgrading heroes to war. If I had not found the hunt for big loot to be fun and satisfying in ways I probably would have been done with the game after TH 8. As it is, I am pretty much done with war since TH 9.

Lol heroes upgrading... Is a week without war really that long? The game is rigged af but at least the hero upgrade times don't become astronomical.

Of course a week isn't that bad. If it was 1 week for BK and 1 week for AQ and that was it, boom done, i think the sounds of joy from clashers around the world could be heard from space. But it's a week, then another, and another and another and so on and so on.

If a player is farming any sort of DE, they go without heroes somewhere between 25-90 percent of the time, until they are maxed, which is easily over a year long(again depending how hard they farm). I agree with the above poster, it is a bit of a black cloud, bums me out too. I can see why some players choose to just keep their heroes low, at least they get to raid with them, war with them, defend with them almost the whole time they play.

As the other guy said, it's not that it is only 1 week.

As a TH8 preparing for TH9, I will be starting the hero grind soon, I like war, but I think maxing my base and heroes is more important.
i say just sit out of war until heroes are maxed then it'll be awesome. War is fun but in the end clash is an individual game, I am a farmer more than a warrer though, I will not stop the development of my base just to war. For me it's farming and upgrading first, war second.
that said, I am TH8 and still close to 200 war stars.

Thats why loot is so poor after updates (excluding the first couple hours) because tons of players come back and start doing some raids again. Happened to me with the Legends update.

It's actually 30 weeks, minimum (plus the time to get them to level 10). If you don't upgrade both at once, it's 60 weeks. That's a long damn time in any game, let alone a mobile app!

Personally, I choose to gem my heroes for war, but that should not be compulsory, to have them for war, IMO.

In war, we hit a fully operational target. We should have a fully operational offense as well.

they should do something about loot
maybe removing th7 loot penalty :smirk:xD
