The True Effectiveness of Anti-3 in the Current Meta
Lately in war, all anyone sees in TH9 (sometimes 10) bases is the anti-3 setup. I'm not sure this is very effective anymore in the current metagame, and here's why:
This type of base design was created before the widespreadedness of Hybrids (Not before the advent of it, but before everyone used them), and before ground attacks were the best option in a variety of cases (AKA sweeper being added). Hybrids go to town on Anti-3, I assure you.
It was Adapted from TH10 Bases
The fact that the widespread TH9 varient was adapted from TH10 bases doesn't help a big deal. The TH10 varient was meant to give up the TH and make it hard for 50%, which it (mostly) succeeded at. When it was adapted for TH9's, it worked at first, because lavaloon was so widespread and Anti-3 work very well against lavaloon. As the metagame evolved, GoHo became more popular as well as hybrids, and the Anti-3's are not a hog-ring, I assure you.
Pure Ground is a Much Better Option than Air When not Using a Hybrid
Yes, again bringing up this point, but air was popular before sweepers. Ground attacks, especially with the recent buff called the earthquake, makes a compartmentized base like an Anti-3 less resilient aganist pure ground. I have seen as many ground 3 stars on TH9 as a hybrid.
It is Very Popular
A very popular base is no base as I see it. GoHo will destroy them with (mostly) easy DGB, and the pathing becomes pretictable on any type of attack, as well as the traps, as you go along. Pretty self explanitory here.
Lastly, Results
No non-TH10 base has a good track record in war. I've recently switched from the anti-3 bases to the ones you'd see before Anti-3 was invented, and it has results. Less 3's against my base any more attacks wasted.
Let's have an adult conversation ok? Yes, I know I'm asking for a tall order, but I think we can (maybe) do it.
