What is the Best Method to get Bolts?
Getting lucky? I get most of mine from bonuses--drop items from harvesting or from waking the animals. Have found only a few in the DD.
Everyone has drop items which are rarer than others. If you belong to a neighbourhood, you could swap with someone who gets lots of bolts. If you play on your own, you could do the same with friends. Failing that, you could try the trading threads on the forum.
I was introduced to the game by my sister and, fortunately for us, we have different rare items so I have never had to try the trading threads which has an element of risk I am not prepared to take.
Wheating! Bolts are my rare bem so I get mostly tapes and some planks, but once in awhile a bolt. But the more you wheat the more bem you get....and selling off the excess to keep the numbers balanced keeps the barn from being full of something you can't use, and helps others whose rare item may be tapes or planks.Quote:

Follow a bolt farm. All players get some expansion material more often than other material. When you find an obviously active, bolt selling farm via DD or recent helpers, try following them for a while to see if they are selling bolts frequently. If so, you just got yourself a bolt supplier. Btw, I often sell bolts. Same in game name as my forum name.
Many people seem to believe that one item is the rarest of all. Our experience tells us that this is not the case, but that bolt farms need planks, plank farms need tapes and tape farms need bolts.
I have a plank farm and supply the bolt farms in my NH with the planks they crave. That gives me plenty of bolts to go and trade with tape farms. Same with SEMs: I give my panels to the screw farms and trade their screws to a nail farm.
Of course, I'm all in favor of farms selling their surplus in the DD. Great source of BEMS. :D

What level are you and are you in a neighborhood? The Best method is probably to be in a larger, chatty, friendly helpful neighborhood (with some high-level members) and get to know them with your own friendly, helpful participation. Most hoods like that are happy to help their lower-level members along.Quote:
