TH out -> very high chance you only get sniped. 0% chance on winning defenses
TH in -> chance to win defenses (depends TH level/defense levels), chance to get 3 starred for quite a lot of cups

You can move townhall outside for the shield. Just as long as plan to raid long enough to rebuild trophies you lost before you log off again you will be able to increase your trophy count. If you don't have much loot you can move town hall inside and hope trophy droppers hit your base. Always nice to log on and find you have gained trophies!
As far as I know TH10s in mid-high 3000s are often found quickly by Titans, since Titans can't seem to find anybody else :p so snipe for 1 trophy
I'd go with TH out in your case
I currently have 4050 cups... Soon Titan...

you can keep your th outside maybe till 4200-4300, its the best option in my opinion..
And this not CHEAP SHIELDING (saw someone used that phase), cheap shielding is completely something else.
