100 gems is too cheap, maybe for a second name change could do the job but for a third, it should cost double (200). For a fourth again double(400), and so on. Maybe stop at 5th attempt with 800 gems.

The point isn't to make money, but to allow the option for name changes but not making it so readily available that it becomes a tool to troll clans or people in Global. 100 is a joke, everyone would be able to change their names once every other weak from just obstacles and gem boxes. That's if they're a completely free 2 play user! If you even spend just a few bucks every month, you'd be able to troll nearly every day at that price.
No, it needs to be expensive enough where a F2P player has the option to either get 5th builder or another name change. Other than that, you have to spend money to get the name change. This makes it so you must absolutely want the name change for yourself not just to mess with others.

I don't think it should cost gems at all. If Supercell would just listen to us and allow clans to permaban by their unique id then it wouldn't be a problem. I for one would like to name change every once and awhile to keep things fresh and I've been in the same clan since I started coc.
i completely agree with Axion, changing names shouldn't be a free feature or come very cheap. I think all reasonable clanleaders want to keep some players out, and close to free namechanges will make it almost impossible to keep players (with a history) out of their clans. I would like to use another namechange and i'm willing to pay for it, i'm thinking 2000 gems will do the trick.

With this free name change options, there were a lot of reports from people who got their name changed by another person, so there needs to be something to prevent that if more options would be added.

My opinion is probably the unpopular one, but I don't think any more name changes should be allowed. When you start the game you are free to choose your user name, then SC allowed you to change your name again if you weren't happy with your original choice. If you can't get it the right the first 2 times you are able choose a name, then live with your name as it is.
I agree with the idea for gem costing name changes but I think the proposed prices have to be more realistic. 100 is cheap and could be used to troll while 2500 is expensive especially when prices continue to get higher. Somewhere in between is where the prices should be set. 250 for a name change and add 250 for every next one so it goes 250, 500, 750, and ends at 1000. For people who don't pay money on this game they will never really get to the final name changes unless they play for a few years. It may seem cheap but remember most trolls are little kids who don't pay money for this game so they won't be able to overuse the name change.

I was fine with my name to begin with but if supercell wanted to charge 2500 gems for the option to name change I'd be fine with that. Sounds familiar to how Xbox does it. You get 1 for free but the next one costs you like $10 or something. Under the condition that it would be at least 2000 gems (if not more) I sign.
From 10 to 250, from 250 to 2500 is far from somewhere in between. Minimum acceptability would be 2000, anything less and I no longer would vote for this feature. I was an adamant opponent for the free ONE TIME name change, I'm sure not going to change my opinion to give unlimited name changes for dirt cheap.Quote:

No slippery slope required. It's a cosmetic change. Almost any, if not all, F2P games out there in the PC gaming world offers exclusive cosmetic items that only can be bought with real money. Skins for your guns, skins for your character, all standard. Not to mention we have additional builders huts that you can only get with real money. The F2P individual can earn enough through achievements to get them all if they wanted to, a name change is no different.Quote:

I can only imagine it to be an impressive headache for SC to go through the countless in game requests they get.
Now- imagine when people are spending $5 to $20, realize they no longer like their 3rd name anymore, and come back with "Someone H***ed my device again, AND spent my gems to change my name!! Wahhh!!! Please please please undo it."
Its never going to end- and when you add money to the mix, it will undoubtedly make it worse.
