You guys! I accidentally tapped on the river boat package and opened it! I am SO mad!! You know how I tapped it on accident? THE FROGS!!!! I was trying to chase one back to the river. Goll!!
K so can I just ignore it and let it sit there and do nothing?? Will I keep getting "reminders" about it?? Grrrrrr!!!!! :mad:
I opened mine as soon as I could so I don't know about messages. You don't have to do boats if you don't want to. Everything in the game is optional. I wish I'd known this when I started because I would never have bought pets if I had :facepalm: Although I do boats, I do very few, sending most away. I got my boat score achievements by filling the boats of strangers in the DD - much less stressful for me than using up my stocks of 3 items in one hit.
Yes that's what I want to do! Just help other people with their boats. I Never wanted the river boat. Wish I would have known earlier that I didn't have to spend the money to repair the dock!
So does the boat still come and go if you just ignore the orders then???
At least it's not the end of the world and it's not going to mess anything up. ♥♥♥♥ those dang frogs!
The boats will just come and go or, if you want to speed it up, you can just send it away if you haven't filled any crates or flagged some for help. You might find, though, that some boats are super easy so do those if you want. I probably do about ten percent of my boats.
I just had a thought. In my early days, I would fill crates if I had to make room in my barn and flag a few crates for those who do like to fill them (flag easy ones to be nice) and then let the boat go when time is up.
Yes you can just completely ignore the boats, as other have said above. But I just wanted to give you some encouragement -- there will come a time when you're very glad you opened the boat. And keep a eye out for the double coin boat event, you will like participating in that. Good luck.
Did you fill a crate? If you did you have to just let it sit and it will sail away when the timer runs out. If you did not fill a crate the tap the boat symbol and click "yes cast off". The boat goes away and another one pulls in 4 hours later. Did you also know you can check what your next boat wants without calling it in early? Just tap the dock and it shows what is needed but not the amount. You probably knew that, but it doesn't hurt to mention it.
Oh yay! Thanks guys!!! And I will definitely go and turn off the notifications. So alright-- feeling much more optimistic about the whole boat deal now too-- perhaps I will try some! I still don't understand, though, why the boat score is so important. My score is 120 right now haha :o
No I didn't know that thank you! K so when can you tap the boat symbol to make it sail away? I just tried but it's probably too early yet? And tapping the dock to see what the next boat wants--only when the current one is gone? Cause again, right now just the leaderboard or the current order pops up. Thanks again Everyone!Quote:

Ohhhh Okay. I stupidly filled one crate (just cause I could), so that's why I can't send it away huh. Not that it matters at all, but just good to know. And after it has gone you can check. Okay. So it goes away on it's own even if the crates aren't full hopefully??? And diamonds?! I didn't know you get diamonds from boat scores! In my opinion, the boat leaderboard is useless. I'm not a farmer who tracks my progress in relation to others, so I never look at it. However, those "boat score" points ARE good for achievements, so check out the boat-related achievements in your farm house.
I don't do many boats, but being able to check and see what my next boat will want helps me decide ahead of time whether to even consider filling it and to queue up items if I think I might.
I know how you feel about the boats!

Well I want to help someone in need and not someone that is just ... bored. (?) What if I give you my 20 eggs and a minute later I find someone that *really* needs my help but I don't have enough? That's why I think it's kind of rude.

If you tap the boat dock, you will see what the next boat wants. You have four hours to make those products or grow those crops (or find them for sale in the DD, but the item becomes scarce in the DD when it is needed for a boat). if the boat wants items you don't wish to part with, eg, cream, butter, cheese, sugar, it is easy to send it away empty and start preparing for the next. Knowing that you will be sending the dairy or sugar boat away gives you at least four free hours to restock low items.
As Mini said earlier, boat points and the leaderboard are not important. However vouchers are important. You need them for pets and for fishing (especially fishing events) and some decorations. Boats and jewellery items provide these, with boats being the most reliable source. Pets are not just cute, they give you BEMS and SEMS for your barn and silo upgrades.
So, yes, you can ignore the hosts, but you are depriving yourself of vouchers, and the diamonds from the boat achievements, if you do.

Not really. How else would my neighbors get thank you notes and now help task completed? If they can't fill them, thats fine with me. I look at it as helping my neighbors. Before neighborhoods I made it a personal rule of mine to flag one crate of each item. That way I helped my neighbors, if those crates weren't filled in a few minutes I would fill and send the boat myself. It is a courtesy.Quote:

When I flag a crate it is because I want to help others who feel the same or are doing a help task.
On the rare occasion I accept a boat, it is because I am able to fill it myself. If I flag some of those crates it is for the above reason.
In the early days, I often could not fill a boat so would just fill what I needed to clear surplus from my barn and flag some crates so others could fill them for whatever reason.
Edit to add: I got the third Boat Score Hunter achievement recently but still fill the crates of strangers in the DD for the xp.
But if you are filling a crate that someone flagged "just for fun" and who has no intention of completing the boat, then you aren't actually helping that person, because they couldn't care less whether the crate gets filled or not. It's just a waste of Resources.Quote:

If they fill your crate they get gift cards, advance towards achievements, xp, points, coin, maybe even advance on a task. It is kind of you to help them out by flagging crates, especially when derby is running.
I can't speak for others, but I fill one boat a day. When I finish and send the boat away, I click on the loading dock and see what next. Then I check my boat list that I made to see how many of each item I'll need. My list is rarely wrong. At most its off by one or two because some boats are 3 crates and others are 4. I rarely send a boat away, because I make the products before they come. It also allows me to not have to rely on others to help my boat, with the exception of jams.
This is is what works for me.
