Mini-Guide for DE Farming - you want super heroes, don't you?

am about to start trying to implement your strategy even though I'm only 3/4 through th8. My BK is only lvl 4 and i struggle to find enough DE to upgrade him - mainly cos any juicy DE pots i find are too well protected...so am just gonna try and follow your advice and see how i get on.

I'm training a (in order of deployment) army consisting of barbs/archers/giants/minions lvl2 😔/rage/healers/goblins and will let u know how i get on

can u give me any advice on how best to progress with your strategy at my th8 lvl? - best army? - trophy lvl?

specific question: is it worth using lvl 2 minions ( someone in my clan said "don't bother till lvl3!")

also any advice on my base (if you have time/ understand if u don't)would be great! Specifically ways to better protect my DE pot as once i get past 1200t i suffer huge 1000+ attacks.

This next one is kinda funny. The base design is quite unique, looks like a bat. I think the purpose of the design was to suck raiders to the "wings" of the bat, but because his CC was in the center, I was able to use the CC plug hole strategy to get to the core easily. I dropped the healers too early though, should have waited for the 2 air defenses to be taken out first (or almost taken out), then I would have been able to get more loot :(

Because I am not very familiar with TH8 DE farming strategy (when I was TH 8 there was no DE in the game yet), I have asked my clan mate Abrennan321 for the answer. I know he farmed a lot of DE towards the end of TH8, and he used cheap armies (but his search time was quite long, I heard).

My general understanding for DE farming is that you need high level wizards and healers. The more wizards you have the higher chance of success because usually you need to penetrate deep into the enemy base' core to get the DE, and you need to do that fast before your army dies. So if you have a clan that donates you wizards and/or dragons, then it would be best.

Most of my clan mates in TH8-9 are doing DE farming because we donate wizards and dragons almost exclusively to each other. Whenever someone farms, he doesn't donate, he just keeps farming like crazy. Clan mates who are not farming donate him wizards and dragons. When he sleeps, he will make a bunch of wizards or dragons, and then donate them when he wakes up. So this is how donation works in our clan, and everyone's CC is loaded with the best troops, so it is a great environment for DE farming :)

As for minions, I only use them to distract air defenses, so I think any level would be okay because most AD will one shot each minion any ways. You need to have wizards attacking the base and eliminate the air defenses as soon as possible, and let the healers live before they get completely shot down by the air defenses.

Yo max! Yeah, I think it is still a good thing, because there can be no strategy without any weakness. So centralized CCs will stop the noob attackers well, but hard to stop the intelligent attackers ;)

I had to adjust the army composition due to the fact that at TH7 the army capacity is maxed at 200. This is still influx but here is the current comp:

This is very good, I think you got the handle of it very well. Again, my strategy suits my style, and I think players can definitely adjust the army composition to be better suited to them. The key elements for this strategy are:
- Healers
- Wizards
- Quick deployment to maximize your army's strength in the field
- Rage
- Use centralized CC to your advantage
- Clear outskirt buildings if possible

Basically its the same as your comp, just a few less giants and gobs.

It takes a little longer to cook, but its really fun. I needed a change of pace from my standard farming comp and my 3 drag attack.

I started playing Clash in January and I'm now TH8, hardcore farmer, and I'm 99.9% done with it, upgrading to TH9 atm.
I have all my defenses maxed (Mortars WizTowers AirDefenses Tesla Lv6, Archers Cannons Lv10), maxed Hero (BarbKing Lv10) and all maxed troops and spells (except HogRider Valkyrie and Golem).
While waiting for TH9 to finish, I'm upgrading my last ElixirCollectors and Walls (86% Skull Walls atm).
Also, I want to collect as mush DE as possible in order to prepare ArcherQueen (buy + upgrade Lv2 = 62.5K) for the first seconds of my TH9.

- So after reading the entire thread I decided I could help you with the TH8 DE Farming strategy.
I changed your army composition to fit my 200 troops army, started queuing and VOILA, let's go.

- My army :
04 x Lv5 Wizards
07 x Lv5 Wallbreakers
02 x Lv3 Healers (instead of 2 x Lv4)
14 x Lv5 Giants (instead of 15 x Lv6)
12 x Lv4 Minions (instead of Lv5)

I attacked 9 villages so far with this army, aiming exclusively to villages with at least 1K DE, at around 1600-1650 Trophy Range, and all 9 of my attacks were successful (not always winning, but at least take all DE, don't care about trophies).
I even beat my DE steal record with 4,258 DE stolen (maybe I'll post the video later, if requested).

I still need to improve my deployment speed and strategy, but for now I'm fine with 100% success.
There are bases that I used to skip but now, each time I see a 1K+ DE base I attack it.

I have been doing decent for level 4 troops (TH7). Got the following in recent attacks:

Two of these had x-bows; I am no longer afraid of these.:p

Not sure if someone has already mentioned this, but this strategy works great for two reasons. First and as intended, CC troops, BK and AQ help bring your troops closer to the middle, therefore closer to the DE. Brilliant!

secondly, after you drop the rage spell and your troops destroy and move past the radius, the healers move in under the rage spell and give your troops crazy support and health. Its pretty awesome. I've had a lot success with this comp.

As a th8, I will say lv5 troops and the inferno tower is a big no no. Wow I had an epic fail on that one. :rolleyes:
