Collector raids in Silver 2
Getting into the core means you need some wizards behind the Giants. GiBarch wont do much to go to the core.
As TH8, people said you should have excess elixir over gold. Now I am dumping my elixirs to make wizards to get more loots!
Stay at 8 and get your troops that you used maxed and your dark troops done here. once you go to 9, the first 3 months you wont have any elixir... Yes Lvl6 giants are fun but you need to have yourself set up when you get to 9 so you aren't playing catchup.
Just my 2 cents. I completely maxed 8 (Walls, spells, troops, everything) and got here with full storages, and full CC. It was gone in the first hour and I barley made a dent in what I wanted to get done. After 7-8 weeks of work, I'm finally getting comfortable with some of the nex toys.
Good Luck.
Friendly point: Your GiBArch can't core TH7s because you're bad, then you watch someone else and they have no problem coring 8s because they're good. You've already proven you can't farm at TH8, you can't war at TH8, and you think you'll get better by going to TH9? Then post thread after thread asking people to validate your opinions, then people tell you the opposite, and you do what you were going to do anyway.
I was crying about not able to find collector loots when I hit th8. Had lots of elixir stuff to do in beginning - Lab, Drill, drill to 2, Barracks to 10, Dark barracks to 4 to be able to GoWiPe. But I managed to get lvl 5 Barch somehow first. For first time starting Core diving. Failed a lot at beginning but now ai can steal 200k elixir and 200k Gold along with 1000 DE in one dive.
This is my army
104 Barbs
8 WBs
80 Archers
All u need to look for is Th7s and weak th8s. When I look for gold I look for Gold storages on same side so my barch can get all of them. It needs practice. At th8 your lab will get free in 5 days minimum and after initial journey you will have lots of elixir just sitting around. You will see that your Elixir will build up with not much effort. My Pekka is going to 3 atm and I am sitting on 3.2M elixir with nothing to spend it on.
Just needs proper base selection.
And as u mentioned Barch cant core dive. You are wrong buddy. Just use it right and u will see. Level 10 King is a beast, Helps a lot when farming. Would be a bonus if u can have him.
Also, Wars are a huge source for my resources too. I GowiPeho so my army is Dark elixir based giving me a big fat profit on elixir. Get 600k-650k elixir each war.
Sorry for a very long comment haha. Hope it helped
brother, just push up leagues.
Since i decided to go for my 5th builder time ago i am full of elixir all the time, literally i even let the storages outside with my th.
by the time i was in crystal I or master III i was consistently full on elixir, im now at champs, leave DE storage and elixir storage out and im full all the time.
I have absolutely no idea why people use barch or Gibarch for farming. The only reason I see why is because it's cheap and fast and helps keeps the trophies up, but, if you could not care less about trophies and fine with dropping them from raiding, then I think just goblins are the best choice. I mean barch can only take the outside collectors because one stinking mortar will be a trouble for them, unless there's a heal spell. For me I have 200 camp space and I use this comp:
160 Goblin (Level 4)
20 Wallbreaker (Level 4)
Which are basically the max level for them in TH7, and these are the first two troops I always upgrade when moving to the next TH level. So far this has done me wonders. I don't get the hate on goblins, just why so many people hate to use them or say "Who uses goblins anymore"? For me with that comp I can easily get to even TH8 storage that are either behind one or two layer of walls (3 is kinda impossible because that's basically the core) but most TH8 I see have storage in the second or even first layer of walls. Try to use that comp with just nexting until you find a juicy TH8 and hit it. Now people will ask where is the meat shield? I preferred to use goblins as the meat shield here rather than barbarians because, well I can't explain it but they make a good meat shield still. Steps to enter to the first layer storage:
1- Drop few goblins on the outside collectors to remove them off the way path to the near storage.
2- As soon as you are sure there are no left collectors near by (Usually uses 20 to 30 goblins max to do that), the next one goblin should go hit the wall which is closest storage to the goblin, that's where you know that you should use the wallbreakers
3- Simply put 5-10 goblins (depends on how many defenses there are and which and how strong) and quickly put about 4 wallbreakers behind to break it.
4- Use only one finger (or two if they die fast because of teslas or splash damage defenses) and drop about half the remaining goblins amount to take out that single storage.
At TH8 after taking out one storage there should be two left (assuming you are going after either gold or elixir at a time), you can easily hit two storage at least with that comp and steal 2/3 of the loot (or sometimes all of the gold or elixir if the walls are weak and storage are near each other or just a terrible base).
The main disadvantage to this strategy is the ability to kill CC troops, unless you carry poison spell or lightning spell. What I do for this is simply lure the CC out and have to waste my king to take them out (unless it's like a dragon or balloon in which case I simply put one goblin at a time to fool the dragon to stay away from the attack zone :) ) Because I don't want to carry lightning spell as I just want to have all heal spells to make the goblins easily destroy everything fast and not waste more goblins)
Try also the suggestions of other people if you like a better comp because, there is no "right" way to play the game. Clash on!
did exactly the same thing when i transitioned to TH9 except that I didn't upgrade the dark spells, gobs and healers (didnt feel like sitting on full storages for another few weeks just for labs)
To OP, if you can't break into most TH7 cores as TH8, you will have trouble with doing the same to TH8 as TH9. Upgrading to lvl 6 giants requires 6m elixir. Now once you hit TH9, you need to dump your lix on lab, spell factory, four camps, etc. If you want to start giant upgrade as soon as possible, you need to farm that 6m lix in 5 days, then you'll need to continue farming with TH8 troops as a TH9 for the next 10 days after the lab itself is done.
TH7 will be pretty much out of your choice of targets once you hit TH9, if you can't even core TH7 right now, how you gonna core TH8 with your TH8 troops as a TH9?
It's pretty simple, no matter your army, know the cost & only hit bases with more elixer than your army costs. Have a good enough army to get to the core. I farmed all th8 this way, since if you don't use de troops, elixer has to be net. If you always hit bases with more elixer than your army costs, the de & gold will add up (or almost always unless it's just too good gold or de to pass up) I used more Giants and wiz than a lot of ppl do, but there are many ways to farm- only 1 way to do the math though :)
