I'm level 120, town hall 9. About 70 lavas done, defences are done, all troops maxed (minus valks, starting final upgrade soon). Both heroes at level 20. I've been getting rather bored of the heroes/walls grind. Should I turn the page on th9 or keep going a bit longer?
Up to you. My goal for going to 10 was lvl 20 heros and all lego walls. (I will be at 10 in 6 days and will have all lavas)Quote:

I would suggest finish your walls first before upgrading your town hall to level 10. If you upgrade your town hall to level 10 your farming grounds will be limited to town hall 9 & 10 players, unlike being on a town hall 9 you can farm on town 8, 9 & 10 players.
I went to TH10, when I had about the same number of lava walls and lev20 heroes. I am not saying you should do what I did, but this was my conclusion about this experience.
- Like someone above said, I needed both heroes to farm effectively early on. As a result, I wasn't able to upgrade my heroes for a few weeks.
- This affected me in wars because I found that Lev20 heroes were just not strong enough to do well against decent TH10s.
- That's when I started upgrading my heroes ... I found that Lev25 was sort of when they started becoming somewhat effective -- now they are lev 31 and 30. Much better
- I gibarched till the end of TH9... and I learned how to BAM effectively at 10. I still do this, and this still works.
- Walls... You can probably farm more walls at TH9. But having said that, I have about 50 zaps and 100 lavas and the rest lego's.
Would I do this again? I think so. But the first few weeks ... were a bit rough... heh.
I've been TH10 for a couple weeks now and I am extremely glad I waited until I fully maxed TH9 to go up. It was so much easier to acquire loot at TH9 both because easier bases showed up in my search (I thought I saw a lot of TH10 bases as a TH9 but I get way more of them now that I am a TH10) and because it was easier to defend loot. The latter part may be surprising, but when I was a TH9 I would get a town hall snipe against my base almost as soon as I logged out. Now that I am TH10 it can take upwards of an hour for anyone to attack my base (my town hall is still unprotected in the corner) and I have a much higher probability that the person that does find my base does a full on attack (probably because the matchmaking system makes it more likely that a TH10 finds my base, when before I was being found by a lot of TH8's and TH9's that simply couldn't beat me). I am in the higher leagues too where no one passes up the opportunity to snipe.
If you feel you're getting bored with the game by staying at TH9 for the rest of the grind, go upgrade. Then it's just not worth it.
If you don't, then might as well try to finish walls and/or heroes first (after all, the more you max, the better you'll start off at TH10).
But in the end, it's completely up to you.
With that said, I moved up with skulls and heroes 15/15 and I'm perfectly doing fine. Walls can wait 'till I'm done with my defense (140 Legos for now), just got cannons left to 12 n' 13.

honestly, upgrade whenever you feel like you are ready. I maxed out defenses and other ♥♥♥♥ at TH9 and I am 2/3 the way through legos and my heroes are only 15. I did it because I could keep farming for walls and heroes for the next couple months but at this point I have become bored so I need to do something different. Could it be more difficult? Sure but that is half the fun. Maxing is great and all but not everyone has the time or the patience to do so.
