Lol, and I've had a hog attack succeed once when there was about two seconds left when they started hitting the last building with the BK engaged.. They proceeded to ignore the BK and kill the last building for the third star. Any other troop would have timed out.
But the hog AI is different, when they start hitting a target they finish it
Personally, I find that when attacking a base with cc troops, my troops will leave from what seems like 8 tiles away to go after the defending cc troops. They will stop attacking whatever building (even defensive buildings) to attack a wall a pesky wizard is behind.
Point is, I seem to have the opposite problem.
I guess that is my point. she is under fire from other turrets too; if she took 3-4 seconds to kill the skellies, I just think they would (combined with the x-bow fire) have taken her out anyhow.. just short on getting the TH. unless she is L40 she just cant tank damage..
I did not see the replay, but have had similar situation cost me a TH-Star as well; and is where I am deducing my conclusions..
Thank you for taking the time to clarify this for me.
Maybe master luring? Or just Attack dead bases and fear storage raids because of cc troops.
Okay so well by what you are saying, I understand that you are having the problem of your tanking troops getting mauled by defence troops.
It can be possible, just possible that you aren't able to lure properly and as you said, you find it tough to estimate the clan castle radius. Well, I, personally am not having such a kind of problem. I think you need to focus on learning how to estimate the cc radius.
But if your giants go inside the base, while other troops are outside, well that is the point where you go wrong. That should not happen unless you have checked for defending cc troops and are pretty sure your giants won't die(heal spells, rage spells etc...). For me, whenever I attack, first, I clear the outer structures to create the funnel, then drop my giants, and immediately after dropping all those giants, I drop in all the rest of my troops. This way, even if defending troops come out, your troops will have to chance to kill them fast.
But yeah, defending troops being given lower priority by attacking troops was introduced a couple of updates back I think.
