If you are so concerned about moderating how people play by "tricking" someone into a TH snipe, why not just put your TH on the inside of your base? That way they can only get it by earning it.

Oh yeah, that's right. You don't want to further entice someone to come wreck you and take everything. So you put your TH outside hoping someone will spend more troops than planned on getting what you wanted them to have in the first place. :rolleyes:

Yeah, the TH sniper has the moral issue.

I find a lot of TH snipers have good loot and I could really care less about the shield. I haven't been attacked for real in at least a month since I have been farming in Gold.

I revenge attack as many as possible. I hope those 11 trophies and 1k gold/elixir was worth losing 200k+ of each!

Also, if done properly- it can force the attacker to use 20-40% of their troops just to get the TH. Which often leaves them without the troops to get any real loot.

That's the thing noobs do you know. Once I see tesla pop up there is no need for troops on the th. I will deal with that once I am finished with leveling rest of your base.

If I snipe a champ3 base for 180K, I have not taken anything from my opponent, I have created 180K that wasn't a part of the economy before. So yes, this grows the economy in the sense that if I don't spend that loot on something, someone else could take it from me.

As long as you get the one star it adds to the economy the same as a snipe

A lot of players don't know or forget the purpose of exposing the TH, getting a shield and protecting your resources.
It's a small deal between two players, you get the trophies and I get the the shield, thank you, thank you.

The question is: Do you want the @&$?&@! shield or not?
If you do, put you TH in the very corner without any traps or defenses in range.
If you don't, then why have a farming base?

Yeah, that replay in which the attacker had 6 archer, deployed one to find teslas and had to surrender was very funny.
But, how often does this happen?

Also, when some players find that your TH won't be destroyed easily with a small amount of troops, he will just NEXT your base, this means more players will see your base
Maybe one will come with the perfect army and tell himself: what is the worst thing that can happen, at least I will get a star and I wil win.

EDIT: forgot to say that you can protect your resources more by using your defenses which you trap your with in the core of your base.

He's talking about the fact that OP's loot is now unavailable, for 12 hours anyway. It will eventually be available, yes, but you have to consider that probably 19 out of 20 "great storage loot" bases are under a shield, usually from snipers.

I think trapping a th was more beneficial before the match making update. When I was farming in champs before the update 90%+ of my shields came from th7/8 players. It always blew me away how fast they could find me. Now you are typically matched with same town hall levels. And while a troll base might work on a th8, on another th10 its game over. I've come across several in the last while and I gibarch. So I can explode the giant bombs with a few barbs and then attack from the other side without any risk of giant bombs. I also only snipe if there is enough loot to make a raid of it if the th IS trapped.

So I'm not sure how trolls work out in masters+ at th10. Though there are some real noob th9's in masters as well...

Ive run a few weeks here and there trapping my TH with quad tesla and I can tell you one thing. All of you preaching that you are just going to level the base when you see a trapped TH are very, very few and very, very far between. 99% of the time the attacker has to use a bulk of their troops just to complete the snipe, .9% quit giving me the cups,.01% will go for a full raid but by that time they've lost time they could've used to scout for a full raid and typically snipers aren't prepared to full raid a base.

Its a viable strategy.
