A Few More ?s re Sell Sell Sell!!

Hey! Thank you to everyone who responded to my "pep talk needed" thread and for all the great advice. I finally took it and have begun just making products and selling them. Now I'm just going through the DD for EMs, a crop that I'm out of here and there, and to see if anyone needs help. I also look at what it is people are buying and needing, and what they're not. And I love it! The pressure is off!
BUT somehow I still am not making any money. :( I think I'm getting in trouble with the expansion materials. But gosh you need so much of them and they're so expensive!
So Questions:
1). What in the world else should I alter about what I'm doing (besides, of course, buying EMs)?? I need major help in this department! Please!!
2). To all of you who do a lot of selling, and to those who go by the "sell everything you make" creed, I'm wondering-- Do you ever complete truck orders at all?? I do not have a river boat- don't want one, so I don't need to worry about that.
3). If you're only selling your stuff, never completing any orders, what eventually are your goals (once the money goal is taken care of)??

Look in the DD for bargains. Buy and resell at top dollar.

I don't know if it's just me, but if I have an excess of certain expansion material it will keep giving me more of those. So for example If I have too many planks I sell them and then I get more varied materials. (And gain lots of money by selling the others)

I only sold products in my rss in the very early levels as I have always been more about xp than coins. I have always been picky about the truck orders I would fill. If the xp value is not more than double the coin value, truck orders are scrapped. If you are after coins, you should probably do the opposite, taking only orders with high coin values.

Since I have been a wheater since the start, I have always made lots of coins selling surplus drop items. I only started buying EMs once I had lots of coins. If you sell off excess EMs you don't need to expand your barn so quickly as you will be freeing up barn space by not hoarding them.

I know you don't need to be a wheater to make lots of coins, but I have several million coins so I do know that it works for me.

The only truck orders I fill are during the truck event (if it's a global event) or if it's a jewelry truck. The only boats I fill are during a boat event (if it's double voucher event)

and I rarely touch my townies.

I constantly wheat and sell the wheat to the little people when they walk up because they pay 2700 per 1000 wheat and only give 5 xp per visit. otherwhise I sell in the RSS at max price everything else. most of my EM come from my wheating and I trade everything else I get from wheating for more EM. very rarely do I find EM in the paper...but when I do I buy it on sight so can't blame ya for that one.

Are you purchasing most of the crops/ingredients/raw materials needed to make those products? Or are you growing/collecting all the stuff that goes into those products yourself on your own farm?

If you're still purchasing the basic stuff and then recombining it into more complex "products" which you then sell, you're going to make a fraction of the profit you'd earn if you make/grow everything from scratch. It's almost not worth the effort.

I didn't read your other thread, and surely someone suggested this already: but spend some time wheating... sell the wheat cheap to push it out of your silo. Your goal is to keep whatever's in your RSS occupying a stall for as short a time as possible. Something sits in your RSS too long? Those are seconds, minutes you could be selling something else and making more coin.

Use some of the wheat up making bread and animal feed which you then sell at maximum price. Any expansion materials that you get that you already have in excess, sell at max price. In an hour, you'll make so much more coin doing this than waiting for a few sweaters to half-finish on the loom.

There isn't much that you can do at your stage to increase the inflow of coins... Instead, you need to think about how you can slow down the outflow. You are only hurting for coin because you are spending too much, too fast (don't worry, pretty much all of us went thru that stage!) Ask yourself what you can control to slow down your expenses.

Because most major expenses are based on your level, you need to find a way to slow down the rate at which you are leveling up. By selling in the RSS you are able to sell without bringing in more XP. Until I had my expenses under control, I personally (others may differ) avoided the board altogether. Does this strategy bring in a lot more coin? Probably not. But it means you are delaying your next major purchase and thereby, eventually allowing yourself to accumulate more coin.

Would you notice a lot more coin rolling in? It seems you've already found the answer to that, but, hopefully you will be in a better position when the 'next' machine is available... And an even better position when the machine after that is available, etc etc etc

Hopefully this helps you understand why I answer the way I do, but, long story shortened, at level 34 (or so), and under financial pressures, I would not be using the task board.

Yes to what Dairy Air said! Definitely do not try to level up too fast. Hay Day is the ultimate play at your own pace game! ;)

I know others here and in other threads endorse not leveling up quickly but it's not how I play. Right from the beginning I played to level as quickly as I could because my goal was to catch up to my sister who introduced me to the game and started months before I did. I am now one level behind her. If you have lots of spare time to spend on the game, leveling quickly is not a problem. I never had to wait long to buy machines as they became available. Of course it's probably wise for those who can't devote lots of time to the game to go slowly.

I also levelled up as quickly as i could. Only filled trucks and later boats. Rarely in rss unless expansion items. Find whatever works for you. That is the beauty of this game.
