Air Raids aren't dead. They just take a lot more skill than deploying 3 lava hounds and a row of balloons with some rage spells. The Air Sweeper gave more diversity for defences and now air raids require a lot more thinking than they used to. Air Raids at TH10 used to be really overpowered, so they added the air sweeper to nerf it. Now, ground attacks are way too over powerful, so I'm sure Supercell will add a new defence that makes ground attacking even harder.
Anybody order a ground sweeper?
My TH9 is almost maxed. As i move up in champs, I'm routinely attacked with variations of 'looning. Most TH9s that attack me get between 40 and 60 percent. Maxed TH10s routinely get the 1 star, sometimes 2 and a few who know what they are doing, 3 stars. As stated in earlier thread, many top players have a combination of lava hounds, balloons and minions in their camps and freeze spells in their inventory. Maybe not the best war attack strategy but arguably the most used trophy push option.
I don't see the point of looking at the top player's army camp... that doesn't mean anything. Most of them will prefer to assure a 1* in a multiplayer matchmaking than take big risks for the 2* which is why they are still using lavaloonions (or even full drags) for pushing.
In CW, you need to get 2* min on a maxed TH10, and since the 2nd air Sweeper was introduced, I have seen very few people still attacking on air at this level, and most of them have been failing getting the 2*.
I was hoping haste spell would be the gamechanger but from my experience it has not been the case, and even after posting quite some time about that, I've not see anyone posting successful air raids using this new haste spell yet
