I just reached TH8 about a week and half and have saved up around 28k de. Should i get hogs lvl 3 or bk lvl 6? I like to use hogs often for cws and am thinking of getting hogs to 4 first. What are your thoughts on this?

Go for the BK! BK can be so useful once he reaches lv10 so upgrade him!
I'd do Hogs if I were in your situation because you use them in CW's.

BK 5 to 6 doesn't change that much, while hogs as soon as you up them to 4 you can start smashing every TH8 you see
Hogs! At level 3 they're just about ready for some of the easier hogs in clanwars.
BK's important too, but getting hogs in war was the single biggest improvement to my clanwar life so far.
Hogs, they will be your main war Attack force when they reach level 4. Barb king can wait!

Hogs, bk10 is useless in wars. I almost never deploy my bk when destroying maxed th8s, but my lvl 4 hogs can rack up 60-90% destruction on the base. If you're a farmer though, do bk
Get your hogs first.
