How do you attack with balloons?

I use them together with dragons and minions.
Deploy dragons first to distract nearby Air Defense(s).
Spread Balloons to clear other defenses.
Deploy minions at the end to clear the rest.

Balloons are decently used as flying giants for minions. I wouldn't use balloons any other way. It's not a bad way to cup push a little cheaper, although I wouldn't say balloons are anything more then a "fun, change of pace" type troop. They're not necessary to use at anytime, nor are they the best thing to use at anytime.

Good responses, but I do have one more tip for you.

Lower level balloons have relatively low health and tend to group up around defenses, making them prime targets for wizard towers and air bombs. Counteract this by bringing a healing spell or two with you. Wizard towers aren't nearly as dangerous once you get r5 balloons because of the significant health increase, but before that, a neglected wizard tower can do enough damage to your balloons that a nearby archer tower can one-shot the entire group!

Basically what I am saying is you should carry a couple healing spells with you.

Yeah, balloons being so slow/decent hp/desire to group together, it makes them arguably the strongest healing spell targets. So, if you use balloons, you should also use healing spells.

Level 3 balloons are horrible. They only get better starting at level 5. Their health and damage bonus go up really high starting at level 5.

They were too spread out along the line, and didn't focus as much on th AD. If you spread it out near the ad and instead of 2 healing spells had a rage you could win that. But I wouldn't recommend balloons unless used with dragons. Dragons take the hits while the balloons kill the ad, and I have done this at th7 for 5 days and its worked very well and got 100% every raid and always went for 200k plus gold. Only ever needed to rage once, and I think I got 400k gold that raid.

Make up your entire army of balloons, then send them out in groups of 5-6. Also, only attack bases with 1 or 2 poorly defended air defenses.
