Am I ready for TH9? (TH8->TH8.5)

Hey everyone, thought I'd get a third opinion.
I'm a TH8 and all of my buildings are maxed. Including skulls. 5 idle builders atm.

Lab is currently upgrading hogs 3 (8 days left). My intention was to get hogs to level 3, start the level 4 upgrade and upgrade the TH simultaneously. I'll go the TH8.5 route but with the 4th AD (I've heard the AD war weight isn't a whole lot), SAM's and nothing else defense-wise.
Should I just pull the trigger right now? Or wait another 10 days with 5 idle builders and full storages?

If I was you I will max wall breaker, Beause they are very helpful at lvl 5. Also loons get a BIG boost at lvl 5 & 6, Also get lvl 2 golem, Beause they help and if you want higher level golem you have to upgrade to lvl 2. Also peeka helps mine are going to lvl three and they get a big boost at higher level.

that's an awful lotta lab time left... if there is literally nothing left on your base to upgrade I suppose I'd go ahead and make the move to th9 just to get the builders going, but you are definitely going to be quite some time before you will be war effective, even going the 8.5 route your troops aren't really equipped to handle it... IMO

8.5? So you're talking war.. Sorry dude, you did your upgrades completely wrong for war optimization, as I'd say you aren't close to ready for TH9. Level 1 golems and level 2 hogs? Level 4 hogs and level 5 loons should have been two of your first upgrades at TH8 if you're thinking of wars.

Since your farming troops and spells are maxed out you should be alright. If you like wars and war often be prepared for lots of 0-1 star attacks. None of your war troops are capable of 2-3 staring a decent town hall 9 base in wars. Definitely get hogs to level 4 and balloons to level 5 and pekkas to at least lvl 2 first. But if you don't war then you should be good to go

I'd seriously max your lab before going to TH9, as maxing your lab at TH8 is extremely important before upgrading to TH9 if you want to go the TH8.5 route.

I'd say go ahead, but be prepared to not be war ready for a while, you need WB L5, Loons 6 ideally(but not absolutely necessary if you won't be using laloon variants), and hogs to 5 to be viable for at least one comp at th9.
If you won't war then definitely go for it

I'd also say to go ahead move on to TH9 but you will be suck at war for awhile. You will be burden to your clanmate with that kind of troops. If you don't care about clan war, go ahead for your own benefit.

Because if he's talking about 8.5 he's talking about war, and the answer is a resounding "never let your defense get ahead of your offense and your defense is already miles ahead of your offense"

Attacking th9 is much different than th8 in war. You'll need to figure out what strategy you want to use. As a new th9 gowipe is probably your best bet to get stars early on, hence needing max golems and PEKKAs.

If you are on a third opinion my guess is you're waiting for someone to give you the thumbs up because you are not getting told what you want. That should be telling you something.......

I'm in a small family war clan, we do 10v10 and i'm always the number 1, beneath me are 4 TH7's (one is going th8 soon) and others are th6 and down. I've never been 3 starred in 25 wars but I've only managed to 3 star their 1 maybe like 10 times, others were high% 1 stars to 2 stars.

With this in mind, is it a smart idea to go TH9?

Upgrade all your troops before moving to next TH.

Upgrade your Town Hall straight away! You're wasting so many resources that you could be spending on getting level 9 walls. Move up ASAP, but I wouldn't suggest the TH8.5 route unless you want to get wrecked in defences. It only works for war if your WHOLE clan does it, but you will be matched with TH8s.
