Got my hogs going up to level 3, eventually I'll get them to level 4
Problem is I have zero experience with them. How do you attack in wars with them? Do they always need heals? Are they just too weak now?

I stopped using drags a long time ago cuz they suck when attacking bases with lvl 6 ADs
Currently using gowipe. It's alright but I wanna use hogs now.
yet to learn hogs myself but here's what I get from watching clan attacks ahah:
- all heals
- bring 30ish hogs, rest archers/wizs, CC max hogs
- lure cc with 2 hogs if not lurable with barbs or troops like that
- kill cc (dragon usually) with wizs, save poison
- pop giant bombs if possible (e.g. on cleanup attacks you'll know where they are)
- try to draw a line in your mind where hogs will go
- there are different ways to deploy hogs but I think best is from 2 different points which later converge on the same defence
- heal when they converge
- then basically follow them and heal when they are near wiz towers or where there could be a double giant bomb
- poison on skeleton traps
Probably there are plenty of tutorials on youtube too XD

The two big things about hogs are giant bombs, particular double giant bombs, and clan castle troops. Luring and killing the CC troops at TH8 is pretty straightforward. For the bombs...you need to path the hogs so that they won't go over any possible double giant bomb spots, or so that only a small number do (you will lose them). If possible wait until somebody else has already hit the base, if it looks like a good base design, so that you can at least find out where the teslas are (since there can't be a giant bomb there). You want to pre-heal single bomb spots. That is, you want a heal spell to get hogs to full health before they hit the single bomb, and bring them back up in health after they hit it.
There are at least three different deployment methods I am aware of and use:
-Mass, usually two finger drop close together
-Asian wall, kinda spamming them spread out usually across one side of the base
-Surgical, aiming a specific number of hogs at each defense on the perimeter, usually along about half the base
Some bases you can kill defenses with 3-4 hogs ahead of time so that later hogs are not drawn over bomb spots, maybe you can even pre trigger the bomb(s) with these hogs and mabye even pre trigger the bombs AND draw the CC all at once.
Lure and kill the CCT in the spot you will drop the hogs. The leftover kill squad troops become part of the cleanup. As the hogs go through the base and kill defenses, drop remaining wizards/archers around the edges to cleanup (when they won't get shot).
If the BK is accessible, use your BK to kill him.
Be wary of BK in the center by the TH...you'll see why during cleanup.
My standard, generic TH8 hog war army right now is 28 hogs, max CC hogs, three heals, poison, Bk, 8 wizards, two giants, and the rest archers. I used to use 12 wizards but wiz are really really stupid about targeting enemy troops and I kept losing them all to the max CC dragons so I use the giant to distract and drop a big semi circle or circle of archers and then a handful of wizards for the dragon kill.
When it's a dragon/loon CC, or similar, that poison (esp my lvl1) doesn't do much to, I save the poison to use on skeletons from the skeleton traps while the hogs are doing their thing
Really though you need to get on YoUTube and watch videos, watch people in your clan who are good at it (you have some right?), and try it. I barely scratched the surface with my post.

Luring the CC is most important.
you also need tight bases (few open spots) so you can guess where the bombs are and teslas. I didn't use hogs until mine were level four, so not sure how different they are. I used all heal spells, and spell placement is important. Anticipate where to drop them so they jump in and are attacking while being healed rather than waiting too long and dropping it right on them. If you do that, they won't fully benefit from the spell. I usually used 25-30 hogs, then drags, mins, or balloons as backup, mostly drags. I used one or two hogs to bring out cc, then dropped a bk in a corner to draw them there, drop a drag and then my hogs on the opposite side.
There's a debate raging in the appropriate forum for this right now (attacking strategies), and don't waste your time with GOWIPE: If you want two stars, just dropped level 3 dragons upwind of the air sweeper and lightning the AD in front of it. If you like three stars, then GOVALO, level 3 dragons, or level 4 hog a base as appropriate.
