I'm so glad this thread was made. My neighbor needs to post her amazing overages here. Gonna go tell her about this thread.
for my barn maybe at most 4 over. i get so annoyed by the big popup window asking me to increase storage
however, at the fishing spot i have a whole lot of red lures that cannot go into my full (50) tackle box and i cannot produce any more (i get the 'collect items' message if i try to make any more lures)
I was in the town and collected 22 more than it's capacity. So, my 1450 barn showed 1472 items after sending off townies. The only other places you can get more is either buying stuff with diamonds from the paper and lure fishing. Oh, yeah, collecting derby prizes too, I think.
I never looked. It would probably be more if I liked to fish!
A few weeks ago, I was in the 60+ over range too. Not that I planned it that way, but timing & inattentive farming did come into play.
Just before the derby ended I did 2 train tasks since I had stacked townies...42 items over automatically. Logged out, then next day after opening HD, collected derby prizes which added another 5 sugars, 3 lobsters, 2 shovels, 2 panels, & a tape, so 13 more items total, then caught 8 fish, followed up with jellybean from a WOF spin, a stake from Tom's balloon, & 2 more prizes from mystery chests, one on my farm & something from a neighbor.
When I finally checked my barn space I was 67 items over max. I was somewhat shocked to see the total & it did take a bit of creative machine loading, crate filing, & RSS dumping of feed & unwanted things to get back to where I could collect other things, but it was fun to feel that I had "c-h-e-a-t-e-d" the system a bit, even tho I really hadn't.
If I'd not had ducks & lobster traps, I could've added 4 more fish to the total & maybe a prize from the sea chest, but I don't bother with it because of the diamond bug. That would've put the ceiling at 72 over which is probably near, if not, the max.
I am at + 74 right now:
14 fillets from fishing hole
42 various from collecting my entire town at once
7 axes from my very last reward from the Fishing event
3 dynamite from a Toolbox purchased from the catalogue with vouchers
2 somethings (I forgot) from red tool boxes
1 pickaxe from a sea chest
1 veggie lasagna from the Wheel
4 various from watching movie tickets
Now, if I wait a few hours and the Derby is complete, I stand to gain at least five more from our horseshoe prizes, and maybe more if we can squeak into 3rd (it's a close one this week).
TECHNICALLY, I could go back for another round of fishing in the morning and add 12 more, but that seems excessive. Lol
EDIT: I ended up at exactly 80 over my current capacity I got 5 items from Derby prizes this morning and a much needed stake from Tom's balloon. I could continue to fish and collect prizes from toolboxes, chests, and Town visitors who only ask for crops, but only by suspending pretty much and other activity on my farm. I'm satisfied with 80.
I never checked before but after reading this topic I looked my barn and here is the result :unsure:
I'm currently at 1443 / 1300..
94 of which are fish from the fish event and derby tasks.. I still need to sell these at some point :)
(The other came from derby rewards (this week and last week) gifts in town, wheel of fortune, movie ticket..)

I didn't realize that Movie tickets were supposed to stop after a certain level?
its true that I have never once purchased any diamonds though, and probably never will. Has it been firmly established that doing so will stop the tickets, or is that still just speculation?
I certainly stopped receiving movie tickets the first time I bought a small quantity of diamonds, a long time ago. The tickets have never returned.
Busted! Ilovehayday told me about this thread some time ago, but I've been too embarrassed to admit that, yep, I've been known to go over capacity a time or two. Seems my barn is always bursting at the seams. Although I can't remember the exact number, I know it's been well over 100 items more than once. Right now I'm 60 plus. Seems I'm somewhat of a hoarder. :saywhat: On the positive side, when I finally decide to clean out my barn, I have happy neighbors! ;)Quote:
