Droping war weight to get easier opponents.

Yeahh that's true but if you do 8.5 to keep lower weight and u still attack 8s then it's not a big benefit for the clan
I'm pretty convinced .5 should just be a transition so that you don't need to sit out of war for long time
Once ur fav war troop combo is upgraded the player should start dropping xbows and all the stuff
I've seen here/youtube of bases like TH10 with TH7 defences but maxed troop combos i mean thats borderline ch3ating
Sure 8.5's attack 8's.
TH7 can three star every TH7 and below.
TH8 get most of the TH8.
8.5's clean the max TH8's as necessary, then try low 9's.
TH9's take low to mid 9's and sometimes high/max depending on their offense and the base design
9.5's clean the high/max 9's as necessary, then try low 10's
TH10's take the 10's
At least that's the gist of how we do it (there's no official coordination or base calling but that's the template people are recommended) and it works pretty well.
This gives everybody the best chance at three stars (or 2 for the 10's)
The ONLY benefit to a .5 base os war weight. If you dont war, dont bother.
well I can understand cleanup attacks but using a potential TH9 offense on a TH8 seems a bit of a waste/overkill
In my clan's wars we don't have 8.5s but I'd say 75% of opponent's TH8s get tripled by our 8s (hogs or dargloon)
But hey your organization works, you have TH10s and all (we don't)
You don't need to sit out of war at any time in 95%+ of all clans. Unless you are in a clan where everyone gets 3 stars all the time you never need to sit out of wars. And even if your clan does expect 3 stars all the time, they should easily be able to make your slack because they get 2 attacks and can 3 star both of them.
People talk about how important it is to always get 3 stars in war, but half of all attacks are meant to be failed. If only half the attacks against a clan get 3 stars that is still a perfect war. Not everyone needs to be doing perfectly all the time. The half of the clan that is new to their TH level or upgrading their heroes can be compensated for by the other half.
dunno man lot of people I play with sit out of wars when they are new to a TH and even more when they don't have heroes (talking strictly about TH9s here). Not because it's a rule but because they don't want to be 'forced' to attack without upgraded/full firepower.
The old saying, "opt in wars when you can 3 star yourself"
