Is TH8.5 Worth It If Not War Specialist?

Hello fellow clashers,
Xcalibur here and i want to ask that is the th8.5 worth if
● not war player
● daily war raider
● want to farm de easily
● get good match making in raids
● can easily 3 star early th9 (like 1-2 week old th9 not th8.5)

Because i am thinking to go th8.5.its looks good but having some confusion if it worth it?
Also please tell if its worth it so am i ready to go th8.5 and skip lv8 walls and max other stuff?

.5 is a war concept. What you are talking about is rushing, which is perfectly valid if you have the activity and/or skill to support it.

War specialists don't go 8.5. You go 8.5 if you are a bad attacker so you can attack th8s with th9 troops.

I am not talking about rushing just want to make sure that is th8.5 really worth?

There is NO point to .5 unless your entire clan does it. You'll suffer on defense for minimal war advantage.

Also, you should max TH8, especially walls. I've seen a lot of people who rush to TH9/TH10 with weak walls, they never get it done.

well, if you not war then go for th9.
th 8.5 is most for wars..

It basically comes down to this: Are you able to 3 star your own base?


The moment a fresh TH9 build two crossbows, you will lose the ability to 3 star your own base with TH8 troops. This is why all elite TH9+ war clans are going with the .5 TH route. Now, you may slowly add defenses as your offense power gradually catches up. Yet one simple principle remains: you need to be able to 3 star your own base, period! Otherwise, you are just a liability to your clan.


That said, 8.5/9.5 TH is not for everybody! For example, it’s not for those who call themselves war specialists by 2 starring their equivalents. You know.. those people with okay GG and think they are good attackers lol

TH8.5s are not supposed to attack TH8s

or do you believe in mirror attacks? :smirk:

if you aren't using 8.5 to war then don't do it.

Get those xbows and get that defense up quicktime. Match making from a daily farming perspective is much more variable than a clan war match up.

The only real benefit to any .5 is war.

In war your increased defense is balanced by being counted towards matchmaking.

In regular raids the increased defense has absolutely no drawbacks whatsoever. Your TH penalty is what it is, and other than that, the stronger you are on defense the better off you are, period. You don't draw tougher attackers in raids because of stronger defenses like you do in war.
