I am mid th8 and have been doing my walls as I go. I wil boost barracks, farm a bit, do a few walls..then when boost is close to being over I just use the rest of the attacks to build whatever I'm upgrading. I have 4 builders, so, whenever the build is finished, I do it over again. Sometimes, I dont have time for all that and just do the upgrade instead. But, I really like the look of the skulls over the level 7s, and didnt wanna be stuck with a grind. So, it takes some extra time because I can only use gold, but I only have 64 skulls to go and my walls are better than some of the higher levels in my clan. Obviously, will be harder to do that when walls become more expensive, and walls weigh heavily on war matchup in my experience. So ya know, pros and cons.
Actually I don't really care about walls. Skulls are enough for me, and a sign of big dedication already.

Personally i always leave one builder for walls until they are done. I think what happens to many players they become a wall slacker and once they decide to get them caught up it becomes a daunting task as you have several levels to catch up not just one level. When i first read about this game the advice i given was walls are your best defence. Players judge your base in those 30 seconds by your walls and see there max they don't bother to scout the rest of the base they just click next. As a TH8 with full skulls,TH7 defence and full storages i have only been 3 starred 3 times in over a month by a TH9 sitting in gold 1. The advice i was given was 100% correct.
My first mini account is a defensively maxed TH8 whose lab is almost finished (except dark spell upgrades) plus maxed gold mines and lvl11 elixir collectors. Still has about 50 pink (lvl6) walls.
How does this happen?
You don't actively farm enough.
Walls relative to the rest of the base are a pretty good indicator of a player's activity/raid dedication.

Nope .... When I got to TH9 I added the new 25 Walls and got them all to Pink ASAP. I then raided enough to get them all to Purple in a weekend then Just Made sure I Raided more than enough to get my next defensive upgrade to get the last 25 walls to Skulls. Now I'm working on Legos. I'll grind out 5-10 a week while doing all my defensive upgrades (maybe more if I find the time). Walls are a personal choice and there are no right and wrong ways to do so. Just work on them at your own pace.Quote:
