Anyone else suck with walls?

I just cant seem to get my walls up! I want to and generate enough loot but just keep upgrading other things!

Im a 6 week old th9 and have

68 purple
162 skull
19 lego
1 lava (totally annoying accident)

So not like im th9 with nice pink walls but still not all skull yet!

I dont have the heart to leave a builder free for walls because i want to get my defenses up, but for instance the other day i raiding for hours and got 6 mill then looked at my options, 12 skull walls OR lvl7 wizard tower..
Wasnt a hard choice and i went wizard tower
Already have 2 going to lvl 7 now and a xbow going to lvl3, as it feels like walls are a waste even tho i know there not!

I assume this is why people have the "wall and hero grind" because they do the same thing!

Cant really take advice i guess as i will just end up stuffing myself with a wall grind and cant help myself!

Anyone else do the same?

I'm at a similar stage to you. Relatively new TH9, all skulls and working towards TH8 defence levels on my new builds.

As soon as I hit TH8 defence levels though I'm grinding exclusively heroes and walls. Maybe the Tesla's and XBows will get some love but my time and efforts are being concentrated on the tough stuff

Not quite at the point of being as expensive as you all, but I sat on pink walls for months as a TH8 for this same reason.
Every time I stored enough loot to upgrade a row, the defenses would call out to me.

Now that I'm actually maxing my base, I've finally started grinding toward skull walls.

I usually like to upgrade walls equally and have them at a consistent level. I do walls at a lot slower pace then others because I don't play as much (but still a lot according to others) but getting those walls done are well worth it!

you could have done all skulls at TH8 XD

btw I think it's quite normal starting from legos and above, because they start to become really expensive

I am only a town hall 7 but i agree with you in regards to sorting defences first. All i tend to do is max out every thing before i upgrade to the next TH, i know its a pain but saves catching up on your walls when lets face it you have enough to do when you are upgraded.

Leaving a builder free for walls really won't slow down your upgrades as much as you think. I 100% maxed my TH9, even with leaving a builder free, I did my 100th lava on the same night that I put my last defence onto upgrade.

Saving your walls till the end is only going to make you bored, and you'll end up moving to th10 weaker than you could have been.

I try to keep one builder free to work on walls, spending any spare money on them with the other 4 constantly upgrading something else. This has the added bonus of keeping you skint most of the time, unless you're saving for an upgrade but they take a long time at th9 and above, so you're not worth raiding.

Although, ATM I'm a th9 finishing my heroes, troops and level 10 walls so i have at least 3 builders idle most of the time.
