I've been wondering about 3 things that probably are easily explained.
1) Why bother with the boats when the monetary and points compensation seems better through the roadside stand or the 'order board'?
2) I notice a lot of upper level players don't seem to have much in the way of bushes and trees. Is it more cost effective to by berries and such than to produce them?
3) Who buys the jewelry and why?

1. If boat is full you get the colored voucher to buy special things like horses. If you fill boat crates you might get a gift voucher for a gift package.
2. Do not know, i have a lot of buches which are not hard to grow. They take long so i will just make sure i have plenty on ready if i need some.
3. Jewelry you need for truck orders, you get colored vouchers also.
yea, those truck orders will give you vouchers, which is essential if you wanna buy certain decor stuff, pets and now, fishing. you need vouchers to make lures.
To save silo space, I only pick berries when I need them so I don't have a huge turnover of bushes needing revival. And when I do have a bush or tree needing to be revived its only one or two and that is taken care of pretty quickly by someone on my friend's list. I would imagine it's the same for a lot of higher level players.
As far as filling orders, I don't fill the board orders unless it's for metal objects because of the low return rate. No voucher, low payment, XP points don't really count because no machines left to buy. Plus, the items just go into the cloud as opposed to a real person so there isn't much of an incentive. I would rather sell the items to a real person at a decent price (not even max price) and I fill my road stand frequently to make space in the barn rather than to make money.
I usually just make jewelry when I need it for an order. I don't run the machine all the time. Again, because I don't need the money since I'm not trying to save coins for any more machines. It's all about supply and demand and if there isn't a high demand for it (jewelry never needed for boat orders but jam is) so I concentrate and coordinate the need for barn space and the items that will be needed to fill the boat so I can get vouchers for fishing lures. It's just a more streamlined system that doesn't figure in XP points or money.
Apart from vouchers, you also get wheel points from boats. Those count towards the Boat score hunter (BSH) achievement. BSH 3 gives 50 diamonds.
1) It depends a bit on where you are in the game. There are a lot of achievements attached to boat filling and crate filling which do come with a diamond reward like Stevedore, Captain, Boat Score Hunter and Co-op. You also get bonus XP and a voucher for fillinga boat. Vouchers are needed to get pets, fishing and other decoration items and pets are usefull for XP, some achievements and bonus items like saws, axes and expansion material.Quote:

Sometimes the truck orders for the jewelry are higher than the max price you would get by selling in your shop. It pays to be picky about the truck orders. I only use the jewelry for the truck order if I get more gold than from selling in the shop (and the voucher is a nice bonus)
1. A lot of good answers given already and I agree with them.
2. I have a lot of trees and bushes to use up my supply of saws and axes which I don't have a hard time getting. I also like giving people the opportunity to get a thank you card (with a chance at a gift card) for helping me revive each object. Plus many who buy from me like the fruits..
3. Also buy jewelry for vouchers. Need them for fishing since I'm done with pets and don't care much for decorating.

Re: the boats, it still seems like a lot of effort and expense for a voucher, and while I like the fishing.....
I don't know about the 'captain' achievements yet, what do you get from that?
And It sound like the reason to buy jewelry from a stand would be to fill an order for good profit.
FWIW, I'm at level 40. It seems to me like the programmers are too tight with bolts and land deeds:-)
For Captain achievement you have to fully fill consecutive boat orders without sending them back. Level 1 is 3 orders, level 2 is 6 and level 3 is 12. After completion of each level you get xp and diamonds.Quote:
