Hit by someone 950 below me

So, I'm in Titan. Plenty of you probably saw my push thread, but whatever. So, had to go on def this morning, was sitting at 4146. I see the attack notification, get on, see the badge of the attacker is champ 3. Which, right off the bat, means I'm about to get seriously wrecked on trophies. Seriously. Then, attack ends. -39. Exactly what I expected since the trophy system sucks banana. That's chill right.
But, the guy that hit me wasn't at like 3480, top of champ 3. No. He was at 3239. I just got hit by someone 907 trophies below me. I've heard of a 500-600 difference, and while I know even from a 500-600 difference I'd be a 59/-1 offer, what the hell is going on if I'm found by someone MORE THAN 900 TROPHIES BELOW ME?
Seriously, that's not ok. I completely fail to be amused by this. I'm not complaining about the trophy loss, that's annoying and it'll take two days to get back but whatever, life is life. It's the fact that he attacked up 900 trophies. That's like me, here in low T3, finding someone in Legend league. Which is completely unreasonable.

Went on defense for the second time today, after a 4-5 hour snipe session that profited about 20 trophies. I was sitting at 4027. I get hit by a guy at 4135, three starred (near full maxed th10, heroes at 35/38), for another -29. So... In the last 12 hours now I've lost 68 trophies on defense. Banana my life.

there is no revenge over like 2600 cups. Just doesn't happen. Everyone (well, every th9 or below, which I am) gets hit within seconds of going offline, revenge doesn't open up for longer than that. It was just a regular attack.

This happens to me a lot, currently in Titan 3 pushing to Titan 2. And, it's hard to defend maxed-out TH 10s against my TH 9.

the matchmaking update made that pretty common for th9 and below in champs and titans.

It's bullbananas they need to fix it I lost 15 cups to a snipe and the guy or girl was 600 cups below me

If this continues then trophies will start moving down and the higher leagues might become unreachable.

It will actually pull more people up and group more people together meaning fewer clouds

No it is actually pulling trophies down.

39 trophies were moved from 4100 range down to 3200 range. That effect would net to be countered several attacks from 4100 range to a lower range. But those attacks would only award 1 trophy. :straightface:

I think the net effect is of trophies moving downwards, which is bad news for people climbing on Titan league, as clouds will only get worst not better.

And then as players get tired of clouds in Titan league the effect will self-reinforce, as they give up on climbing further (or simply become blocked from doing so).

it happens occasionally and pisses you off and almost makes you want to throw your phone. You get rewarded for hours of searching for minimal cups just to be 30-50 cup offer to someone else when you log off.

I don't believe this is true. Overall, with more players joining the game and with slow but reasonably constant trophy inflation, the number of players in higher leagues is moving up. While I think it's totally ridiculous that someone 900+ trophies below me can attack me, and I think this should definitely never happen, I think it's a good thing that more people are moving up.

And, another note, I think it would be fair if you got a 16 hour shield for any trophy loss over like 30 or 35, maybe in champ or above. idk

First they complain about clouds, now they complain about the trophy range being extended for attackers to reduce clouds. Right...

I can't really tell (only SC could). But at some point the effect of attacks from lower trophy ranges should start to overpower the effect of people moving up the trophies.

By allowing players to attack 900+ trophies up SC is really pushing the trophy system to it's breaking point. I wouldn't be surprise is there's a collapse in Titan league range.

ahh that's bad luck.. don't get demoralised by the loss keep pushing, small advice if you are not keeping your th exposed do it, put it in the corner.. around 4000-4300,4400 this will work good almost all the time you will get sniped for 1 star by higher league players..

There is revenge, it is just much tougher to do it since everyone up there is online forever and get hit the minute they log off. Only if the revenge is hit at the exact right time with some luck.

The current way favors trophy pushing over just sitting at a level. Makes it easier for crystals and masters to go up and champ and above to go down. to a degree that may be ok, but not to the extend SC has it at now. If they allow someone to attack another base 1000 cups higher, the cups they walk away with should be dropped. This same thing happened to me two days ago.

That and I only use revenge on those that sniped my th, I snipe their th to return the favor of a 12 hr shield. Because revenge attacks for me are no longer worth anything since at best I only get 1 cup out of it, even if I do get loot, since there is no bonus for revenge attacks.

The game heavily favors offense and one example is the ability to hit bases many leagues up/down for big trophy gains/losses so one can quickly change leagues. I have mixed feelings on the effects in the middle leagues but it's ridiculous at the top end so you won't see me trophy pushing anytime soon. To help counteract this unfairness, I spend a little extra time and gold to purposely lose to people in higher leagues when offsetting my wins to stay in my current league. It does kind of suck because people from these higher leagues also show up at my base with war armies to wreak havoc but I understand that in most cases it's more for the extra star/trophies than the resources.

I can't say whether overall trophies on average are moving up or down...what I can relate is my own experience.

I recently did a brief trophy push just to see what upper levels were like. I can tell you that trophy offerings 6 months ago in M1 (about 3100 trophies) are where I started running into poor trophy offerings. This time, I didn't run into those similar offerings until Champ 2 (about 3600 trophies). I take that as a good sign. It could simply be that with more users there are more options to attack, and that overall average trophies are still the same...but even that would be a good sign. My takeaway was that it was getting MUCH easier to get trophy offerings that seemed reasonable significantly higher up than it had previously...and also that the bases were considerably weaker at the same trophy levels than they were previously (and my Max 10 base often sat for significant periods of time without being attacked when I hit Champ 3, like several hours sometimes, which also says there must be plenty of easier bases to attack at that level).

Actually no. What the op was saying is when you log off, you are made available to matchmaking before revenge. In high leagues, pretty much the first or second guy that rolls you will hit you, thus there is for all intents and purposes, there is no revenge in high leagues.

To the op, I feel your pain. I have been saying they need to moderate the extreme trophy offer from +1/-39 and +59/-2 to something more reasonable. I think many would be happy if the range was more like +5/-35 to +30/-10. Good luck with your push.

You are absolutely correct, things like this are actually pulling trophies down and the proof is staring everyone in the face. When I look at the top players leaderboard for Global and USA, you know what I DO NOT SEE?

Anyone over 5K cups.

That's right, there is no one over 5K cups at the moment. IN ALL OF CLASH.

There was nobody over 5K cups before the most recent update...so is it really pulling cups down? Or is it just keeping people from going higher? That's a pretty significant distinction since SC has basically said their goal is to keep people from going too much higher. They're trying to create a pool of high level players so that trophy offerings don't continue to be the ridiculous disparity they are now at those high levels (stratification is very bad for trophy offerings, they're trying to reduce that).

There have been around 10 folks that I have noticed that have hit 5K and you can see them from the leader board. Check the threads on these forums and you will find the first one to hit it.(I forget his name). He hit over 5k within a week of the update and was no longer allowed to join any clans at all.

Since him, there have been more but it has not really been too popular as the real big deal was who would be the first to do it.

My point is that under the current system, according to SC, we should be seeing more people go up that high, and then they are rest each "season", yet when you look at this very moment, there is no one there.

I know this doesnt have much to do w ith OP but trophies dont drop... there are more higher lvl players all the time.. for example, when legend league came out, no one made it for the first 1-2 weeks, but now there are atleast 4-5 ppl in it. Also trophies are always going up for everyone because new people join the game all the time.

Hmmm trophy creation is created at the bottom. At the top there is no trophy creation, but there is trophy DESTRUCTION every season ...

We should be seeing more people go up "high", I wouldn't necessarily say to 5k high. I would bet that a good deal of why you don't see many over 5k (yes before people hit the mark, but I meant nobody was consistently over that range) is that they are just less motivated to do so. Hitting 5100 is more motivating when you're going to keep those trophies, hitting it knowing they are going away soon isn't as much motivation...particularly early in a month-long season, I wouldn't be surprised to see people trying more seriously toward the end when it locks in the leaders on the scoreboard.

When I say trophies aren't going down, I'm not talking about on an individual level, I'm talking macro level. SC already made it pretty clear they aren't interested in having people go much beyond 5K, with the goal of bringing a lot more people up to that "near 5k" level.

I think there's probably a significant amount of player resistance to hitting 5k early in seasons now. Easier to hang out below, then push hard the last week since you're going to get reset anyways. It's not worth pushing hard the entire season just to see your single trophy gains erased at season-end. Ultimately though, trophies should rise. As more and more near 5k, trophy offerings get better, and people get motivation to climb.

I equate this to clans who hold a weeklong trophy push. Those who hit the level where they get 1 trophy offered typically just stop bothering and hold their position...it's not worth the effort to gain 1 trophy when you know at the end of the week that work was for nothing because you're going to drop way back down again.

Tough luck. Not sure about what to say to this, though. Annoying, I guess.

Agreed, but if you raise the level of the ocean while simultaneously calming the waters to reduce waves....some people won't be quite as high because they were riding a wave, but overall the group is floating higher due to the higher ocean level. Those who sit highest in the water eventually reach previous levels and continue higher as the entire ocean rises.

I agree to an extent. Similar to your analogy, I see it as a pyramid. You have a HUGE base, and a very narrow peak. You need a LOT of new growth at the base to push the top up by one unit However, once you start lobbing off the top (trophy destruction at the top), depending on the which rate is greater, you either have a growing top or a diminishing top. Keep in mind, trophy at the bottom is not a 1:1 ratio to inflation at the top. I imagine it would be some HUGE ratio. None of us can know, as we don't have the information. Only SC does.

I'm surprised you actually made the effort to get a few out of context quotes to make me look like I don't know how to play just so you could try to win a debate with a stranger across the Internet. In this situation I'm not trolling, I simply pointed out that there are endless forum posts complaining about a problem, and now there are more posts complaining about a fix for the problem. Bringing up something I said on a "what was the worst attack you ever made" where I described a failed attack on a max th8 when I was a 2-week-old fresh th8 is in no way relevant to the topic being discussed here.

I agree, though we're only lobbing off the top when the top exceeds a predetermined height. That should not lead to diminished trophies overall in an environment where prior to be lobbed off the trophies were steadily growing (so that we know in an unregulated environment the trophies at the bottom provided enough growth to continue the top growing). The piece I think is missing even more than the info SC has is what the change does to player mentality. Do people stop caring about being over 5K? Do they just move up to 5K and maintain? Do they see no reason to push at all and just focus on other things like wars? Is it a giant lull for 1/2 the season followed by a maniacal push to be top of the leaderboard by end of season? I'm interested to see how the change affects player attitudes about being highest in trophies knowing that there's little long term gain in being highest right now (because the permanent trophies you keep as Legend League trophies don't do anything at all for you at the moment other than pride).

There IS revenge, the button is still there, it's a theoretical possibility.. but on this push for all my trying I've never gotten a revenge, have never been revenged, and on any of my past pushes I've never been revenged when I was higher than crystal. Might be because I farm all the way up so even in Master I get sniped immediately.

To both of you, yes, I have my TH out, I rarely just get sniped, even the guys who hit me from 4600 will go in full (I'm sure they'd like the 3 star, only about half of them get it, which is good considering they're all supermaxed th10's).

I agree with the op, that's messed up. And that's also why I have no desire to push above champs until it gets fixed ( including the cloud situation).

On the other hand, be happy a TH10 could not three star a TH9 :D

It was a rushed th9 who hit me. Usually I get hit by maxed th10's in the 4400-4700 range, and they get about half two stars half three stars, which I'm overall happy with. But this guy was a fresh th9 30 levels lower than me. I wish I could revenge him just so I could walk all over his base for fun.

Actually yes. There are th4-10 in titan.....hard as it is to believe, so if one of those th4-8 is looking for a snipe and nexts you revenge is available. Don't try and confuse people with your clear, intricate knowledge of sc revenge system. smh

With the leagues completely broken, I have no idea how any pusher finds the motivation to continue on. Is it because the idea of quitting would be a waste of the time and/or money invested up to this point? I'm finishing up maxing my TH10 defenses and find little value beyond that point. Just seems like a complete and utter waste of time grinding heroes, walls, and trophies.

IF you want to change somthing say how you would do it.. saying "you shouldnt be able to find bases 400 higher then you" is a horrible solution.. all whales are gone then, do you really want to push with 1 tropys offers at a time?

Being new & unexplore, the hype of Legend league! :confused:

It comes with a painful trade off as many T2+ players (old and new ones) have experienced. Who in the right state of mind after going through this 'fun' experience will want to continue the climb when majority (Players who went through the entire farming+ upgrade process with time and money over these years.) have voiced out that it is unplayable and a total waste of time.

July Update is Barely 2 months old. Give it 6-12 months to grow in an unplayable state? Go figure it.

Do you really enjoyed watching those shows while in the clouds? :smirk: It's kinda sad when Bill mentioned that there were 29m+ players at the moment. So what if the game is losing 1-2% of these haters on top? It may make this game playable to the new generation in 1 years time as they never fail to stand & defend the broken game in high lvl gameplay.

I agree, I don't think the population has trophy deflation. I was simply stating the trophies were being destroyed at the top, thus I'm not sure if the peak will still grow or not. Good point about the reaction of the community. I guess SC is probably looking at bar and bar graphs and seeing what they need to tweak as these are likely their first set of data post update.

Just got hammered for another -29. Bananas. Bananas.

I'm at 3730 & getting 3 starred everytime mostly for only -1 to -6 trophies. When my TH was outside i was getting sniped for -11 - -19 then i moved my TH position which is currently inside & enjoying -1 near about everytime. Try it. It worked for me.
When you put your TH outside, the amount of TH8s or TH9s from lower league searching for opponent is HIGH as compare to TH10s so you'll be available for HUGH trophy offer for those 8s & 9s, they take advantage of outside TH & hit you. But when TH is inside they skip your base & a TH10(MAXED) comes and finish you for 100% from Upper league. IDK about Titan but this works in 3600+ - 37XX range (tested).

Given that I haven't seen anywhere suggesting that the RECORD high score of 5045 has been broken, I would not expect there to be more than 1-2 at any time. Having none isn't over surprising, and certainly doesn't indicate that trophies overall are being pulled down.

What has been described as happening earlier in the thread is in fact almost certainly going to be pulling more people up to high levels.

I mean... while you're being kind of a banana here, I'll try to respond reasonably. Basically, I think the idea of there being trophy offers this huge is ludicrous. The fact that 98% of offers I see are 1-3 trophies doesn't bother me, I'm fine with that, but it would be nice if what you see is what you get. I've seen 1 59 trophy offer since I started pushing, and didn't hit since it was a supermaxed th10, but basically I just don't see whales. If I see one trophy offer over 20 in a day I'm surprised, and even then can't hit 9/10 times (since I'm a th9 with heroes asleep facing off against max th10's, I'm not complaining about this it's just a fact). The fact that I can lose 68 trophies on defense in one day sucks, but that's part of life. It's the fact that the trophy offers CAN get that big that sucks. The -29 was unfortunate, but it was a three star by someone right near me and that's a reasonable gain from that. But a -39 two star is just too big. I see no reason for trophy offers that large. Sure, it's great to find one, but I think most people (except the few people who get the whales) don't like the trophy offers being so high. I may be wrong on this, just the opinion I've seen around a lot.

I just rolled one of the BattleQueen. She was around 50 cup offer, and I raided her for 31 cups. This dropped her from around top 80 world wide to 150. This makes no sense to me. I thought the name was familiar, but I didn't realize this was the same battlequeen as former top ranked battlequeen (clanless), otherwise I may have nexted it. When she is back in a clan, I will try to go over to apologise as this is just wrong and broken. Really the extremes of cup offered needs to be moderated. I would have been happy with a 20+ cup offering and walking away with 12-15 cups and come progress instead of erasing someone else's days of progress (since they're over 4800 cups).

A week ago, I was attacked by someone 1000 trophies below me. I managed to win the defence, but unfortunately at 36%, meaning I got no shield. What was the result? +0.
Thats right, I won and get +0.

Why am I telling you this? Because I had the pleasure of sitting down with the Clash developers on Wednesday, and its rare for them to sit down with someone in Titan 1 (There is only so much testing you can do of high cup play in an offline system). They were *SHOCKED* to see the screenshot. And took down the details to investigate further, saying that should never happen. Needless to say, the devs are a little more aware of the kind of things that happen in the high ranges now.

But, I also understand. It comes with the territory of being a high cup player. You want the big cups, you gotta take the big losses. Give the new legend league reset some time, you will see more and more players up high, and this sort of thing wont happen.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but PelicanTacos (former TH2 Titan) was hit by someone over 2300 cups below him- someone at 1700+ hitting him at 4000+. Although he's an anomaly in the matchmaking system, anything more than a 500 cup difference should not occur IMO.

I'm only a TH9 in champs-III and already getting 1-3 cup offers from fellow TH9 players in masters-I. Shouldn't it be that since masters-I is 'similar' to Cup lvl with Champs-III AND TH lvl and that I should get better cup offers? Yes, I did read The latest update on match-making but failed to mention anything about cups.

I' m also surprised developers didn't know about the problems in Titan. In addition to not playing at those levels, I guess they're not paying attention to these forums either, and that can't be good. 😕

It's the fact that he attacked up 900 trophies. That's like me, here in low T3, finding someone in Legend league. Which is completely unreasonable.

Went on defense for the second time today, after a 4-5 hour snipe session that profited about 20 trophies. I was sitting at 4027. I get hit by a guy at 4135, three starred (near full maxed th10, heroes at 35/38), for another -29. So... In the last 12 hours now I've lost 68 trophies on defense. Banana my life.

Yo, I feel your pain. SC said they would fix the trophy problem, but it really didn't help. I am at around 3860 cups and I got hit by a person at master 1. I got absolutely screwed over. He 1 starred me and got 19 cups. There for I was around a 59 cup offer. Now I'm sitting at around 3820 and having to do so many sessions a day to regain, until I get 3'd by a TH10 in champ 3 or something.

As bad as it may seem to be hit by a 950 to 100 trophy difference in terms of real damage a roughly 500 trophy difference will max the offer anyway. The extra trophies are just adding to the sticker shock....received a nice little -18 1 star from 400 below me in champs 2 last night, far cry from the minus 1 losses I used to get back in April.

I went an entire 6 hour session last night without finding a single offer over 1 cup. As soon as I logged off, I was 1 starred for minus 11, thank god it was by a fellow Titan 2.

Once again, as I have stated numerous times before, Titan 2 is UNPLAYABLE!!! If you do not find, and 2 star a whale, you will be dropping trophies if you defense does not hold up(which is very rare up here that you actually get a defense.)
