I know there's been a few threads on this recently.

I did see in one thread that due to complains their drop rate was increased.

well that has led me to wonder whether drop rates can be changed in other items?

my reason for asking being that I've learnt about "wheating" and earning coins through the forum. I've since started doing that and in two weeks have earnt over 200,000 coins. Which is obviously fantastic.

however the drop rate of items is clearly skewed towards certain items... I understand that's the point of the game and that there's an exchange thread here etc. (I don't think it understand the ratios/kik etc. well enough to use it).

so could we slightly decrease the drop rate of nails/deeds/bolts and increase the drop of planks/screws? Just for those people who are genuinely trying to earn things the right ways without relying on other people?

Each farm has a common item, a medium item, and a rare item when it comes to drops. This seems to hold true across the board (sem/bem/lem). I believe it is designed that way so that there is some challenge involved in the game, instead of farmers being able to simply upgrade constantly and max out barn/silo leaving much less to strive for as they climb the levels and play. Those of us on android (who don't have facebook) have no way to trade except with those in our nh, and mostly must rely on the dd to sell off our common drops and hopefully acquire more of our rares. By selling your commons you are helping others in your situation and by the same token you will hopefully also find enough of your rares to upgrade here and there :-)

Im not on facebook either. Vile piece of the internet.

i get that it should be a challenge... But also, it shouldn't be impossible. To play a game I just don't believe we should have to rely on facebook, KIK and other means that we might not have.

You don't "have to rely" on those other mechanisms. You'll get the items you need if you keep playing...eventually.

It's not impossible, it's just slower than we'd like. But then, when you think about it, pretty much the whole game is a series of roadblocks to progression. That's kinda the whole point.

HayDay has a built in mechanism for advancing past these roadblocks in the form of diamonds. By making only one item in each trio "rare" it give incentive for players to spend diamonds to get those last few bolts/stakes/panels that they need instead of waiting around for them to trickle in.

I hate to say this out loud...errr...I mean in print. But for the last 2 expansions my drop rates for both barn and silo materials have been generally even.
I know--I am as surprised as anyone.
But at 3400 and 3500 respectively I have had my fair share of extras. I usually get way more planks and screws. For land it's always mallets that I always get about twice as many of.
I don't trade. Just sell off extras in my shop and wait patiently. I'm a hardcore Wheater too.

I know how great it feels to find a box of your favourite EMs in a shop and to be able to grab it before someone else does. So I'm guessing that might be how people feel when they discover planks and screws and mallets in my shop.

IF everyone went back to selling their extras in the DD instead of hoarding them and waiting till they got the ones they needed then the DD would be overflowing with them. (pauses to day dream about a wonderful world) but people are greedy and would much prefer they get all theirs first. which leads to back room deals and selling your soul to mark zuckerberg

As others have stated you can sell off your excess for full price and make even more coins, you can trade it to your NH. (I know I tend to give my extras to my NH before I advertise em of course I'm one of those greedy types.) or give in and pick up your key to the back room den of trades (kik).

Oh almost forgot. You can also pay 8 diamonds per expansion piece to get those last few you need. That would always be an option. It's less than 1 extra derby task


Oh and I want what ever bug sparkly has so I can have even drops too. lucky rat. (even though I'm faily sure it's just a fluke)

Just feeling rather deflated that I'm trying to do it right and it's just not happening.

I'm still 400silo and 450barn and am level 45.

its making me want to throw in the towel.

i have been playing for hours today (spare day) and it feels like there's some people with barns in the 5000s.

i can't trade as I don't know what kik is etc. don't understand the ratios and don't have facebook.

I just feel evening out the drop rate might be a motivator to do things without relying on others. In the end, people wouldn't work hard for no pay!

i get the challenge etc. but when the ratio is 40 odd land deeds, for 1/2 mallets and stakes, there's surely an issue?
