I check the DD (newspaper) to find players to help, I remodel my farm (day, after day, after day... lol), and I plant crops and then sell them for extra money.
I spend the time doing my "rounds". I enjoy the "friendship" aspect of using GC to connect with people with good or useful RSS stands. I also rotate which farms I follow.
GC friends: After a time, you find some or many of the players become less active. In GC, you can pull up your friends and tap the game tab. When you tap hay day, it will show the last time they played. I go through times where I will purge several who haven't played in a couple weeks. I also will do searches in the nh tab and put in something like "90" or "100". It will pull up nh where they are looking for higher level players and some will have their gc name in the farm name. I write it down and friend them. I also search for nh with "active" or "daily" in their name. I also add people I find in the DD if I like their stand and their name has their gc nickname.
Following: There is one farm I refuse to stop following. The others are replaced somewhat frequently. I also follow some lower level farmers as a trial before adding them through GC.
The rounds is going RSS shopping through my friend's RSS. Because of this, many are predictable as to when they load it up. And, having numerous gc friends with Chinese, Japanese, Russian, middle eastern, Korean and more typed farm names, I seem to always or often run into non-empty RSS.
Then, there is chat. Our nh helps each other a lot. So, we pool all land exp with big barn people and clear it going down the nh list. Various lower level players get hoarded SEM, TEM and SEM. We talk a lot on chat and give one another items they need for their truck order or boat order or townies derby tasks.
And the help tab also keeps me busy. If I get bored, I will go to the DD to see what's up for sale or looking for people to help. I also look at the RSS of people following me. I should clean those up some too. Next time I am bored with everything else....
And, for the new players, I have 17 million coins so I shop a lot.

Um, you do know that the dates in GC that indicate when people last played are not always accurate, don't you? You may be deleting people who are indeed active.Quote:

I go wheating of course!! I can spend a whole day wheating (which I am guilty of on many occasions). I also love to help others out by filling boat crates and reviving trees/bushes when the opportunity presents itself.
