No, I don't believe we are "forced" to use gems. The conditions for frustration are surely there, and born from frustration is a craving for ease.

NO you are not ... you have a lot of options like waiting for the royals upgrade to finish, opt out, war without them or gem them or even quit clash .. so you are not forced, you have a lot of options..

If you know it's hard to even get two stars without your heroes, why would you ask the question if you could THREE star without your heroes?? That was my point. Anyone who can 3 star max TH10s, like you claimed, would know it's impossible to do it without heroes. Show me a video of anyone 3 starring a max TH10 without heroes.

This is just another thread complaining about not being able to use Heroes in war while upgrading. It's never going to change, it's the one part of the game that you need to pay to play and i'm fine with that.

No one is ever forced to gem, sure temptation is there but forced? Never.

Find it amusing that you ask is it possible to 3 star a max TH10 without heroes. Hell it's extremely difficult to do with 2 max heroes.

So what do you think the answer is?

Lets loook at these options:

• wait for the royals upgrade to finish: at this point it is likely taking this person 7 days, wars last 2 that won't work
• opt out: that defeats the whole purpose
• war without them: pretty much impossible to do well at th10
• gem them: not everyone can spend $1000's to be able to use a vital part of the game
• Quit clash: that hurts the game and the clan, not really a viable option

So everyone of your "options" is quite lacking... any more bright ideas?
