It's extremely smart to max out everything, most people advise walls as well but if you don't want to do walls then you can leave them at level 6. But you should definitely try max everything else.
max defences and walls, the walls being 7 will help you in long run as very easy to max them at th7
Town hall 7 is the best town hall to get loot at. Max it, it will be worth it in the long run.

MAX IT ALL! Every single wall, defence, troop/spell and even the barbarian king and dark barracks (that dark elixir is a tough one) It's even fun staying at town hall 7 sincethe loot is great! You will hold such a great advantage when moving to town hall 8!

All depends on how much you play.
TH7 is the best TH to get loot at, so as much as it will seem like a challenge, it is the best chance you'll have. so yes, max it all!
That seems to be the common wisdom around here, but I'm beginning to see a pattern in the people complaining about preemies:
1. They don't even look up at the sticky about what to do about premature th's.
2. They don't know how to raid.
3. They don't understand basic math.
4. They don't understand why throwing $100 at the game doesn't instantly make them gods.
I'm beginning to think that the th's aren't premature, the players are just terrible...they would be premature at every level.
