I'm a max th8 upgrading to th9, and I was wondering if maxing heroes is better than upgrading dark troops or vice versa. And also, should I bring my aq level to my king level before anything? If you guys could help out, that would be awesome! Thanks!
Do your heroes before dark troops. I myself am going to get my queen to 15 before I upgrade my king(lvl 10).
Assuming you want dark troops for war, you will probably need both, I would get used to farming vast amounts of DE to keep your heroes and lab busy.

If you like to war alot then I would say your dark troops before your heroes. Otherwise, dark troops aren't going to be much use for you.
Yes I agree that you should farm enough de for both... since you don't use any builders to upgrade troops. Keep your labs busy and while your troops are upgrading slowly work on maxing heroes. :thumbsup:
If you're an active farmer & you're a war addict, upgrade your AQ + research your dark troops at the same time. I got to th9 slightly over 2 months. My golems are level4 and my hounds are going to be lvl2 in a a few days. My AQ is being upgraded to lvl13 (I'm trying to get her to lvl15 before doing my BK)
If you dont like war, I suggest ignoring your war troops and just spending your DE on both your heroes. If possible, keep them both upgrading at the same time. You'll reap the benefits later

I regret working on my heroes earlier on at TH9 currently at 14bk and 16aq.
Heroes. aq 1-30 is gonna take you about 6 months if you go nonstop. de troops all combined wont take as long as just her. Drop her as often as you are able to.
Well...golem is insanely important for almost all war attacks starting at TH9. Hogs are pretty important to have too. And witches and valks. And heroes. You just need DE. I would NOT avoid upgrading an important dark troop just so you can hoard it for heroes.
My first three TH9 lab upgrades were giants, hogs, and heal...when my mini goes TH9 I think the first three will be giants, hogs, and golem.
