Gratuitous Alerts?

I play COC on a Samsung tablet and get alerts for the following reasons: my shield will run out soon or my base is being attacked by XYZ. These are useful alerts and I do log in when I see them.

Recently, however, I received alerts telling me that "your village needs a leader, please come back Chief". I log in expecting to see donation requests from my clanmates but there were none.

I contacted Support for an explanation and here's the reply: "I understand that you were off-line and away from your village for a long time of period and at that time you will received a pop-up notification on your device that 'your village needs a leader'. The purpose of the alerts is to remind you your village needs your advice for further instructions on the game". The message also referred me to this forum to discuss issues with other Clashers so here I am.

First of all, say what!? I usually received the "come back Chief" notifications a few minutes after I log out of the game. What instructions do I give to my villagers besides finish the upgrades faster or else? What is the purpose of these alerts besides annoying me and crying wolf?

Since the the Forum's No Name No Shame rule also protects Supercell staff, I won't reveal the name of the Support person who sent me the confusing message about 20hrs ago . :)

Has anyone received the "your village needs a leader, please come back Chief" alerts? Thank you.

This alert is usually because you haven't been online for a while, supercell of course want you to return to the game. I don't understand why it would say that after a few minutes of logging off. It would be interesting to hear other cases of this.

Yesterday I got that notification while I had the game open waiting for my troops to cook
And sometimes too I get that 15 minutes after I close the game

That notification is totally broken right now

Lol yea, I get that one too. Usually within 15 minutes of shutting down CoC after a 2 hour farming session. :confused:

I have had that notification but only after I had gone >24 hours without logging into the game. I have never had it at such a short period after closing the game.

I get this alot on my phone ever since I got a tablet. I cannot play on the phone anymore because once you have a bigger screen it is almost pointless to play on the phone. I am not sure why, since i was just playing on the ipad, that I would get it on the phone but I guess my sleeping builders are ready for breakfast.

What bothers me is when i get the notification that my troops are ready i log in to raid but when i check my camps are not full till 10 or 15 troops to go.

This happened sometimes to me too after I close app and around 10-20 mins later. No idea what triggered it so soon

Yeah I find it more annoying that I get multiple notifications (like 20+) when my builder finishes something, though this only seems to happen on my Xperia z3 compact and Xperia z3 Tablet. I haven't seen this on IOS, Samsung or Lenovo products yet.

Happens on my Samsung too, but I got at most 5 or so notifications.

Still, pretty sure there's something going wrong with the notifications system
