Should I upgrade to TH10?

I have been TH10 for 6 days 21 hours and let me tell you, it blows. I was able to find resources much, much more easily as a TH9 than I can as a TH10. I am extremely glad I stayed at TH9 until my heroes were 30 and my walls were all level 10. The only thing I had left was 2 earthquake spell upgrades (it is still level 1) and 10 days left on my dragons upgrade (it is still cooking in the lab as we speak).

There are two major problems I have found as a TH10. First, and most importantly, it is much harder to find easy bases to attack. I was hanging out around 3200 trophies and I was finding really good TH9 targets to attack within just a few minutes of searching. Now I am down to 2933 trophies, not because I am purposely dropping trophies, but because I am getting attacked by tougher opponents and am not able to find bases that I can beat (though that is partially because I have been without my spell factory and queen during this time and I no longer make DE troops because I need the DE for hero upgrades). Still, even 300 trophies below where I was hanging out it is much harder to find bases to attack because I am no longer given priority to find TH9 targets and am instead getting tons of TH10's.

This leads nicely into the second major problem. It used to be that when I logged out I was quickly sniped by a TH8 or TH9 within a couple minutes of logging out. Since I had a nearly maxed TH9 base (except for walls) almost none of these people ever tried to really raid me. Now I am just a TH10 like all the other TH10's up here. My base is no longer given to TH8's and TH9's as a priority base because I am just another TH10. The result is that it sometimes takes a half-hour or more for anyone to even find my base (my TH is still unprotected in the corner) and I am much more likely to be seriously raided when it is found because I am usually found by TH10's. I used to break my shield 10 times a day to do raids when I was TH9. Now I never break my shield and only let myself get attack twice a day because I am much more likely to be seriously raided and they are able to take more loot than ever before.

In a nutshell, TH9 is a lot more fun than TH10. Eventually you will have to go to TH10 (and I am sure it will get better once many of the upgrades are done), but I would not recommend rushing it. TH9 is a very enjoyable time and I would at least stick with it until your walls are maxed (and try to get as many hero levels and as much lab work done as you can while you do those walls). If you are lucky you will finish your heroes by the time your walls are done and you will get to enjoy playing with level 30 heroes (which is quite fun). But even if you don't make it that far, there is definitely no rush to get to TH10. It is the least enjoyable town hall level so far.

He is far from being at the point of wasting gold and elixir. He still has over half a billion resources worth of walls to do.

It sucks because you are a new th10. You have th9 troops, you don't have your 5 th spell, your aq is down. Come on you can't judge it with those factors lol. I thought the same thing, but once you level up your farming troops, and get your aq up and running, you will get great loot. You have th9 defense and offer th10 loot, that's why you are not getting sniped. Build two infernos and let me know how much you get raided.

There is a steep startup price to pay at th10, but once up and running, you will do great. War is the only place th10 isn't the best sometimes. Buy raiding and protecting loot is awesome at th10.

From a war perspective I went to th10 with max troops, all lava walls.....yes all, and 19 bk and 21 aq. I felt rushed. If I could go back id have gotten minimum 25/25 heroes. If you just farm I don't know. Most boring thing on earth is being a farmer with no war.

I concur. With dual infernos, 240 space, 5 spells, I'm farming easily in M3 with 200-300k collectors everywhere like its C3 and I'm able to get the bonus with just 1 hero active. Its now at the point that I regret maxing lavas in TH9 because the loot here is just insane and I can cap my gold/elixir within 5-7 hrs of farming

The first few weeks were harsh because I didn't put down infernos ASAP, but once I got smashed enough that I just put both down, I'm now looking at my defense logs for 2 hits (failed ones) and everything else snipes

My infernos are now up and I have my queen and spell factory back but TH10 still sucks. The problem is the lack of TH9 bases to attack. I used to have no trouble finding TH9's with full storages even in champs 3. Now I am barely in masters 1 (technically I am in high masters 2 but still getting masters 1 league bonus) and I still can't find TH9's with decent loot. Having better troops is not going to make up for the fact that I will have to fight TH10's instead of TH9's because TH9's simply aren't being matched with me like they used to be.
