New Townhall 9 Farming

Hi guys,
I am a relevantly new th9!
I am doing th 8.5. (I think)
I currently have all troops maxed for th8 and have loons completely maxed and hogs going to max.
I have been pouring gold into walls as I have been told to (all level 8 and 25 level 9)
My heroes are 10/6 (10 being the king) (attached is my profile)

I was wondering where to get loot and how to do so.
I am currently at around 1400 trophies and there isn't much loot. I was using gibarch but That army was way too expensive.
I am mostly looking for dark elixir and normal elixir.

This is completely off topic, but as a th8.5 when do you start upgrading defences?

I'm in upper G3 and the loot is okay. I'd try G2, the loot is usually solid.

If gibarch is too expensive then you will never progress
You will start upgrading defence when you will stop being a coward and trying to take unfair advantages in wars

I'm TH8 farming in G1 right now, I'm just running simple Barch and the loot couldn't be better! I'm getting over 200k Gold each raid just by picking off collector bases. But do note- searching can get long and tedious so be prepared if you're going to look for collector bases in G1!

How am I being a coward?

Boost AQ to 10 and then push into masters using superqueen. All the loot you can dream about.

I'm working on AQ atm :D

well, I'm in Titan currently and the loot is stupidly good. But aside from that... the 1800-2200 range has been tasty on my lower th9 recently. Try your hand up there. I use straight barch, maybe a few WBs thrown in if you need some zest but I rarely do. Too lazy.

I'm in Champs 3, win bonus is phat enough as is. Not sure I can next and push into Titan.
