Unhappy with the Resource Protection Update?

I'm a bit on the fence really.

Using lightning bolts to get DE on a DE storage is a zero risk strategy. Zero skill strategy. That's what I never really liked about it, but when I too was TH7/TH8 I would zap a full DE store if I found one. While I felt it was morally wrong, it's there and I would not pass up on easy DE.

However, I find it's bad for the trophy ladder. This was the one thing that drove strong TH9/TH10 away from the lower leagues, Silver etc.

But now the strong can sit there with lightning immunity...why go up in trophies if you can find loaded TH9 or the odd dead base often in silver?

Yeah, I'm farming in Silver, sorry to all TH9s out there. Pretty much no design can stop my max heroes and Ho-Barch taking all your loot. ;)

I'm very happy with the storages being protected from the lightning. IMO it was a fault the game had. Hard core defenses shouldn't be penetrated by weak players. :thumbsup:

Because the design of the game (quite rightly) means that those who develop are stronger than those who have not yet developed.

It should be hard to revenge those stronger than you, otherwise there is no point in developing.

Obviously u are a noob... SC clearly stated that zapping was not ment for farming the resources unless its an revenge caused by over powered attack. They want players to learn the attack and do farming...

There's this magical thing called raiding where you attack the WHOLE base, you should try it out.

I have 2 accounts - Th8 and Th10.


For my Th10, I am making more DE than ever! With the reduction of the spell cook time AND the addition of poison spell I've been able to do quad healer raids and cut golems completely out of my raids. This means I can make 4,000-5,000 DE per raids with the loot bonus added in! I am pulling like 25,000 DE daily without much strain on my life! And its safely nestled in the center of my base where people now have to RAID me to touch it. LOVE IT!





For my Th8 - I am a .... lazy farmer. Yes a Th8 lazy farmer. I just can't stomach barch anymore. So I raid big, spend my loot, and log off. This update prevents zapping and forces people to actually try and tackle my base to get my loot. I stopped zapping storages loooooong ago so its been good for me. I have all my DE upgrades done besides minions (which I neglected).


I still hate having more than even 20,000 DE on hand with my Th8 as SOMEONE will stomp me for it eventually. I gain some protection by keeping gold like empty but once I hit those caps its log off and pray.



Fortunately I can find the DE as well, so happy here

Supercell stopping lightning zaps on storages was a fantastic display of them babyproofing this game.

Zapping provided a great natural deterrent of high level, maxed out TH9/10s from beating up on underdeveloped TH8/9s in silver/gold leagues. Sure, you're not gonna find a better place to do your gold/elixir farming, so if you value that above all else at that point, it's worth it to stay there. But if you value DE, you will only stay down there to the point where you can handle getting zapped at. It was an avoidable nuisance that gave high levels a reason to farm in more trophy-appropriate ranges.

Supercell removed this b/c they cater to complaining kids who cannot think beyond what affects them personally, as children do not have the mental capacity to think critically or broad-based on matters like this.

It was a garbage update, OP, which is the answer I think you were looking for.

EDIT: This is an example of a player who 100% farms in high silver/low gold league with his TH10.

I'm not saying he's a coward, or the reason for the problem these updates created. He's working the best method within the new parameters of the game. It's completely on Supercell for doing what they did. But now there is zero reason not to head way down to farm, as the combination of the updated matchmaking algorithm with regards to farming, and the inability for underdeveloped bases to keep you from picking on them, is gone. Supercell turned silver/low gold into easy mode for farming. Not one single person can deny that, logically.

I also have two accounts, a TH9 and a TH10. Keep in mind these scenarios were before both the zapping update and the matchmaking update (both updates were garbage for this game, as they just cater to kids and complainers who want an easy mode).

I stuck around low gold league on my TH9 back before the update, b/c gold/elixir was more important to me. Did I get zapped? Sure. But I chose to farm down on easy, underdeveloped bases b/c I could hit inactive collectors and roll their storages with little to no effort, and while not deploying a full army. It was and is the best range for gold/elixir farming. I just accepted that I would make slower progress on my heroes, due to the zapping that would come when I started to accumulate 30k+ in DE.

On my TH10? There was no way I was gonna waste 100k in gold Nexting over TH5-7s looking for gold/elixir and sometimes DE down in silver and gold. And I wanted to work on my heroes on this account, as it is the biggest bottleneck in the game for builder hut efficiency. Therefore, I adapted and did something I never figured I'd do back when I was farming as a TH7: this was pushing to champs to farm. I GoArched up there, and made plenty of gold/elixir and DE from the bonus and oil storages that weren't tightly packed. And here's the best part: you don't get zapped up in masters/champs. Not to the extent that it happens in low leagues, at least, b/c on the rare occasion that you do, you receive a shield on that attack as well. I used my brain to figure out that I was exposing myself to having my valuable DE zapped when I was down in lower leagues, b/c the players I was hitting had no way of breaching my base. Obviously they were just going to hit what they could get, and I completely deserved to get zapped being down there. But when I decided that I didn't want to lose DE to zappers, I went up to champs, where one could argue that a TH10 belongs when farming.

Problem solved... unless you're a child who lacks the ability to listen/comprehend to countless advice on this forum when they are informed on how to avoid being zapped, and then just continue complaining about how they refuse to apply a strategic approach to what was supposed to be a strategy game, and then Supercell will eventually listen to enough complainers and change it for them.
