Rank the Sticky Ideas - Clan Related

Several weeks ago the community helped me arrange the idea sticky sections by voting in several polls. It's been a few weeks, we have a handful of new ideas in this section and I want to see how they rank among the older ideas, plus I had the poll choices upped to 25, so I can do this all in one poll.

As to why - simple... the Supercell folks asked I try to keep the sticky organized by user interest, so from time to time, we'll do some polls to arrange the particular areas in the sticky.

This poll has 23 ideas from the Clan Related section. All this poll will do is arrange this section in the sticky by user interest, no guarantees they will be worked on.

It is multiple choice - the catch is, of the 23, you only get to pick your favorite 11.

No, I have *'s on them in the sticky. The poll choices have limited characters, and those are the ones I was trying to get down to fit in the poll.

The newest idea is at the bottom as Clan History button

"* Add ability to send short message to rejected applicants similar to when expelling"

I see this one being particularly nasty. I hope it doesn't get implemented since I'm sure there's going to be a lot of put down's when people get rejected.

I'm the one who originally suggested this feature and the intent is far from nasty. It would be a very handy feature if your clan has a feeder and you get a lot of applicants (like DTP does) so that in case your main clan is full or the applicant does not quite meet the requirements but is good enough for your feeder you can include a message to the rejection directing the applicant to your feeder.

I agree it has a lot of potential for abuse, most of the folks who wanted this wanted to use it similar to:

"We're full ATM, please join our sister clan xyz" or "We're only taking 3200 at the moment, 3000-3200 can apply to xyz" etc.

The message you can include when kicking already has that same potential.

Take the good with the bad I figure. I'm just pessimistic when it comes to people's morals over games, blogs or the internet just in general since they're able to hide behind a certain level of anonymity. We will see.

I was thinking for people who want clan sizes increased to 75 or 100, I have an alternate idea.

Allow each clan to have 3-4 brother clans or feeder clans. Do this officially, so they are officially linked. The clans work separately as they are now, but the difference is all the linked clans share the same chat. So you have everyone in your multiple clans all on the same chat page.

This way there is more opportunities for interclan chat, you can start off with 2-3 clans in a group and not worry about one of them being empty cause all of the clans can chat together of the clan chat. And every one can donate to each other. So more opportunities to donate troops.

And I can see any kind of unable to join clans blacklist being abused if not implemented very carefully.

I agree with this

Only voted for 8, some are a little silly, such as designing your own clan flag, you will just end up pictures of b***'s and P**** everywhere no matter how many times you vet this, look at the Call of Duty embalm creator feature, just as an example.

I also feel the clan leader can switch between total troop donations and housing space donations. I think 1000 archer donations are far better than 1000 housing space filled by 50 dragons.

I liked the large text area for clan rules, but I think it should be viewable by everyone not just the clan, maybe a little button like the settings button at the bottom of the clan members feed, you can click on and the page pops up, makes it a lot easier than, check out our forum thread, or explaining in chat. An optional but yet viewable by everyone extended clan rules.

I didn't like the deleting messages in chat, it shouldn't be posted if you want it deleted, vet your clan members better.

Increasing the clan size would be cool, but can you imagine just how big the clan would get, a sub chat would be needed, but If feeder clans and other clans are associated with each other then no clan increase would be needed. Especially if you mix chats. Leading on to a separate page for requests. Players will just sit on it or will either stay in the chat page, to much effort to switch over on a regular period, also chat would be filled with players saying please go to the request tab, iv just requested.

I also feel the last clan history is not cool, if I can't find the right clan, then why should I be judged when applying for a clan. It should show longest time within a clan if its that important. I visited a clan the other day, the leader was some silly level 50 player who didn't like that I could offer higher level troops than him, and was very arrogant, in between the one other person talking, it was to much, 46 clan members, a pompous leader and 2 active chatting players its crazy, my head nearly exploded.... So I think longest serving clans, top 3 maybe 5 would be better, as well as highest troops donated in the 2 week league period and highest trophy count.

Thats all i have really.

Yea, you guys don't have to vote for 11, but usually you only allow 1/2 the choices when doing multiple choice for ranking purposes. You can pick just 1 if you want.

Going to move this out into the general sub-forum for a little bit to pick up some move steam/votes.

Wouldn't increasing clan size be weird and unbalanced? 50 is reasonabke

I didn't vote on any since these tweaks are just cosmetic changes.

Why is clan against clan wars not here? That would be a major overhaul to make it less repetitive.

1. Upgrade = farm or gem
2. Farm for resources = time consuming
3. Raid for tps = gemming

Been a loyal player of coc from end of last year and spent a considerable amount but now it feels its time to say goodbye.

The only reason to keep me log in is the clan chat and the great people I met over these month.

However until now the game had been nice and challenging.

I represent the 95% who doesn't need a spokes person to put words in my mouth. Kudos to George Yao who endured the constant updates and to be top spot for so long. I'm the marginalize 95% who spent about same as him but didn't feel it's gets too repetitive until now.

Clan wars is in another section, but I can tell you that I list it as the top idea in every single report I do (and pretty much all the staff). If you listen to the developer interview and Steve's interview, it's something SC really would like to do, they are just trying to make sure it gets implemented the right way so it adds to the game, not throw it all out of balance.

While many of these are "Cosmetic" in nature, they are all asked for by the community, and most would have positive impact on the playability of the game. Sometimes a moved or new button can make a player as happy as a new troop or damage balancing.

thank you for your clarification and direction.

I am merely highlighting the fact that coc has become repetetive and while many may jump of excitement because sc add a button and feel that their voice is heard or listen to, some may not included myself. Yes many may think why doesn't this person come up with ideas instead of complaining. So to clarify im not complaining per Se, but voicing out my choice because the game lost it fairness in many perspectives.

1. You take away the 1 week shield for champions over 3200 at the same time you implement 8 h rest because some jail break or make devices to stay online. Well some people may like to rest 1 week or more for private or job related resasons. Instead you force people over 3200 to log in constantly every 12 h to maintain their trophies. Sorry but everyone needs 1 week or more to disconnect from the game as well. I am fine with 8 h rest and think it is reasonable and one of the best that was implemented in an upgrade ever but 1 week shield???

Ok no one force you to login and maintain however when you spend 1000 usd/ month or more to have a chance to go to top 200 (which i was before during a short period of time) you would like to ensure that it is maintained.


instead you punish people who put dedication and money on this game by saying 3200 is the limits which separates "normal" players from others. I am sorry but that is some very strange policy. (No offense to the people who farm and does not gem at all) yes we do have a life as well to consider.


2. When you have 8 h rest why didnt the 1 week shield come back? You have now blocked the obstruction of 24/7 online issue right?


This is not a cosmetic change, but very real and relate to balance of real life and enjoy gaming. Instead you though out a huge upgrade because sc is going on vacation.......

clan wars if it ever comes or not is the future to tell. But as i wrote, in my personal opinion it has been too repetetive and not challenging. Just raid, get tps, wait to raid and drop. Nothing with other type of interaction but the clan chat which as become more or less the reason to login.


i believe sc has a great concept but after 7 month and seeing the cycles of the game change or not changes i realized that it is not changing.

so my conclusion is i rather put my money on something else and enjoy 1 week relaxation with that money because even if i want to buy a shield sc has segregated champions from the rest.

This is a very specific point which i realized after almost 3 month as a champion. Thus kudos to Yao for his persistence.

Really love the idea to link sister clans

I'm genuinely surprised that only 32% of people think an elder cool down is a good idea. It pretty much prevents the "new elder" from kicking an entire clan. Adding a new rank won't stop the "whole clan getting kicked" issue, it'll just force people to ask for the new rank, as opposed to the older, now worthless, elder rank.

I think they're all good ideas, as they have had good community feedback from their idea threads to make it to the sticky in the first place.

You can't really look at it as only 32% think it's a good idea. 32% think it's in the top 11 of the 23 of the given ideas.

Also, to be honest, the forums has a very high percentage of "top clan" participants. Top clans don't run into this issue so much as they've played with their members for a long time, they have good rules for promotions, and don't make a lot of the mistakes you see on, um... newer clans. Plus, if a top player did that, chances are very good that other top clans would not take him in. If some random 1000 cup member in a noob clan does it, chance are good nobody would really know about it.

So, I think it's a great idea, would give a leader time to be contacted or take action if an elder went rogue, but given the forum member cross-section, and the fact that it's in the list with a bunch of other awesome ideas, may seem less important. But... they're all still sticky items, just kind of prioritizing them is all.

It's funny because up until the 'Large text area" choice towards the bottom, they're listed in order they finished in the last polls. What's interesting to look at is as some new ideas make it into the 11 of 23 picks of users, what choices near the top are left off.

I think a lot of people want elder just to have the "status". Having the ability to recognize valued players without giving them the ability to kick and promote is something I would like to see.

I promote only the very most trusted people to elder and ask all of them NOT to promote anyone else without discussing it with me. I find it unfortunate that I can't recognize valued players without risking the whole clan to a kick fest.

At my clan Elder is a job... it cant be a reward in the current implementation.

Elder status is only valued as worthless in a clan that either promotes everyone, or isn't a very active clan, the reason I didn't vote for this is because, its down to the leader to dish out elder status in the first place, and if she or he wants a well structured clan, you can have that, with a few well picked elders. If a mass kick happens then, as iv always said, if the clan is worth coming back to, then the kicked members will come back.

I usually get about 300 votes on each poll, it's starting to slow down, so one more bump and I'll move it back to the idea sub-forum.

The sticky has been reordered in this section by the results, they were:

* Add more leadership roles - 2 leaders, or 2 co-leaders, etc
* Add other clan requirements to apply besides trophies, ex: Specific troop lvl, TH lvl, lab lvl, game level
* Separate Elder+ chat tab in-game
* Way to designate sister/feeder/associated clans to link clan chat in a separate tab
* Block specific players from joining clan (blacklist)
* Ability to sort clan info besides trophies: By Donation, level, position, league, etc
* Online status or Last online date/time
* Raise troop donate limit from 5 to 6 (so 5 people can still fill lvl 5) or 10 troops per request
* Increase clan size: 75 or 100 are most common requests
* Customizable clan flag
* Add viewable player stats - they want similar to Hay Day's farm stats
* Remove clan join request from clan chat if they've joined another clan already
* Add ability to send short message to rejected applicants similar to when expelling
* Troop Donations: Don't reset when leaving clans, have a running total, average per reset period
* A large text area for clan rules that just the clan can see (separate from public clan description)
* History button on clan app - see stats: Last x clans, time in, donations given/received, kicked/left, etc
* Leader (and co-leaders if added) ability to delete messages in clan chat
* Reduce leader message cooldown from 12 hours, increase text space
* Cooldown for elder to boot players (1/5/10? minutes between expels)
* Modify clan msg of player joining with who invited player: xx joined clan, invited by xx
* Separate tab in chat for troop requests
* Make kick/promote menu for leaders/elders to operate from names in clan chat as well as clan interface
* Queue troop donation notices when offline - display when back online or new interface to see info after
