In Dungeon Keeper existed an option to test own or friends' bases, without really using troops. It was simulated using the current army.
Such feature was really brilliant, and the ability to do the same and eventually to post the video on clan chat would be perfect to discuss strategies and defense...
And, OK, I've seen comments about practicing against enemy bases by recreating theirs...
1- change your base just before the beginning of the war.
2- don't know where are the traps...
So I still think it would be cool.

Practising attacks does indeed have some benefits, like testing out your base and see how it stands against certain attack strategies and army compositions.
However, there is a huge downside which overcomes the benefit from above.. the downside is that this strategy could be used to practice attacks on the bases of your opponents from war. People could copy the base of their opponents from war and practice on it until they achieve 3 stars, then head to the war and do the exact same attack on the same base.
The fact that this idea could be used in such a way makes it impossible to add. Whatever you do to try to "fix it", won't fix it in any possible situation for when this can be abused.
