Clash of clans should introduce a dummy testing place( a replica of user's village) where we can select troops and their levels and attack on our own village to test:
- the strength of the base
- places of improvements
- loop holes
- how good/bad the base will be against raiders.
All in all I believe this upgrade/improvement will greatly affect the user experience.
I've seen this idea many times.. And not going to happen IMO
creating a perfect base that defend all attacks by testing it on your own kinda ruin the fun
Break your shield and wait till someone raids problem solved

Practising attacks does indeed have some benefits, like testing out your base and see how it stands against certain attack strategies and army compositions.
However, there is a huge downside which overcomes the benefit from above.. the downside is that this strategy could be used to practice attacks on the bases of your opponents from war. People could copy the base of their opponents from war and practice on it until they achieve 3 stars, then head to the war and do the exact same attack on the same base.
The fact that this idea could be used in such a way makes it impossible to add.
