Not true. Drags suck at th8 unless you have maxed loons in the cc and even then ehh.
Hogs are good if you have them lvl 4
Gowipe is great but also must have the highest lvl at th8 to be successful.
I pretty much 3 star every th8 and sometimes th9s with gowipe in each CW im in.
I don't lure with gowipe. I just let them deal with whatever might be in the CC. And you can always take a poison to even the odds, which is what I do.
Never lure the cc on any of the gowi attacks. Always use the cc to lure your troops to the core. Especially those wondering pekka. Poison and rage the wizards takes out anything quickly if used right. Then heal to recover. Piece of cake.
Always lure if possible, its always better to kill the CC troops first before the raid or kill it during the raid while the troops are outside the base, much harder to kill a CC while you're inside a base.
If it's possible, I always lure the troops so I won't have surprises afterwards. Still, if luring them would cost me too many troops, then I give up on the idea and go YOLO with the attack..
This mostly. Especially when you are looking for 3 you want minimal damage to troops before going into real battle. If I suspect there is a drag or I know there is one I will take 10 arch and use 3 or 4 wizards to kill it then deploy a golem to protect these and proceed with attack.
If it's an easy lure then do it.
There are some (very poor) players who believe that.
They are, of course, wrong.
Poison gives one extra weapon against CC troops, particularly low hit point ones. But even against those, you have to use it right, and it has some but very little effect against high hit point troops.
