Hi I just started a new clan (im not telling the name of it so people know im not advertising) and I need some tips on how to run it. Like how to get good members, how to set up and get ready for clan wars how to set up rules or anything else that might be helpful.
I'm the leader of my clan, and from my experiences it's simply don't be afraid to kick. If you want a war clan, then you shouldn't care about clan pushes or when they can farm, and also don't worry about donation ratios, only worry about war related activities (my clan knows they can do whatever they want, until it's war time, then they use their attacks properly). If you rule with an iron fist, it may be a good idea once u have enough people. Recruit on the forums, or in *sigh* global and you want a core of strong, not rushed players who are active and willing to help out.

recruitment tips :
-Don't recruit in global chat. EVER.
-Recruit in the appropriated forum here.
-Know what you are looking for (TH7-TH9).
-Decide if you are a farming clan or war clan. The two kind of player don't really match.
-Decide right now how many co-leader you want to have and the criteria to gain elder and co-leader status. I recommend 1 co-leader for 5-8 players.
-Look at attack stats for activity. A TH7 with 5 attacks this season won't evolve quickly. But a TH10 with 50 attacks this season is working hard.
-Kick anybody that is asking for co-leader within the first week. Elder should take around 1-2 weeks to earn.
War tips:
-Advertise in your clan description that 2 attacks are mandatory. First offense is lost of rank for elder and co-leader. Immediate kick for non-ranked members. People who wants to war like strict rules about war attacks
-Have a war plan ready when you accept new member. Attack same number, attack 1-3 position lower, attack same TH. Assigned attacks. Any you think of. But be ready to explain your war strategy.
-Ask to see each new player war base. You might not be the best layout builder, but it will show you care and somebody can give great comments to.
-Ask that everybody has a specific war castle request (1 dragon, 1 loon, 2 minions and 1 archer). It helps fill up the clan castle and people are more aware of what should be in each war CC.
-Be online 1-2 hours at the start of the war and 1-2 hour at the end of the war. In between, it's up to you. But those 2-4 hours are the most critical and show leadership. Be ready to donate war troops anytime (I don't farm on war day).
Leadership tips:
-You are the leader and you chose which you will give elder and co-leader. Don't let anybody boss the new players around. It's your job and nobody else unless you know you trust their decisions.
-Chose you recruit (if you don't follow my first recruitment tip) and when. You don't want a 12 years old asking anybody to come to your clan.
-Explain the type of new players you are looking for. But be open for friends/family/wives regardless of TH level. Friends and family stick together the longest.
-Be ready to give tons of troops. I'm only an elder and I give 2000-3000 troops per week. If your clan is small at the beginning, you will have to compensate and give more yourself. With time, active players will be there also.
-Let people give their ideas on how to improve the clan. But you are the leader. If you don't like an idea, you don't have to follow it.

Most important thing when running a clan.
Make sure you Enforce whatever rules you have in place EQUALLY to all members.
If you treat some special and others not special, people will leave you or take your leadership as a joke.

Have a solid core of people you KNOW .. like real life friends, family, co-workers, etc.
You can recruit in global..... just use caution. Talk to people first.. don't spam the invite button on everyone who is clanless. Avoid those with war timers and no league shield past the first couple of days of the season.

My 2 cents, unless you have a group of friends already to be a core do not start a new one.
Just a well established clan, make friens, upgrade and grow. Then some day when you are a powerful th 10, start again
Its very hard to do wars and win without at least 1 person with max troops to donate into
